Komatsu exhibited its two new horses, the GD535-5 motor grader and PC350LC-7 hydraulic excavator at BaumaConexpo India 2016. The new models specially displayed on high pedestal decks, were unveiled by Kiyoshi Mizuhara, Managing Director, Komatsu India andArvind K. Garg, Vice-President-Construction & Mining Business, L&T, on the combined stall of Larsen & Toubro and Komatsu showcasing their strengths and technologies in the construction and infrastructure equipment industry.

Powered by a 145 HP engine and with an operating weight of 13,820 kg, the new Komatsu GD535-5 motor grader is a new-generation machine and upgraded version of GD511, which was hitherto highly popular in the contractor segment. The machine meets the emission norms of Bharat Stage-III and has several key features that make the product the best-in-class for the road segment. Some of its features are – ROPS canopy with excellent visibility, large fuel filter for enhanced performance, easy to refuel from the ground level, longer wheelbase and short turning radius, elevated battery bay to prevent dust penetration, scarifier attachment to handle hard surfaces, and dual mode transmission – lockup torque convertor(auto mode) and direct drive(manual mode). The machine The Komatsu PC350LC-7 hydraulic excavator has been fitted with heavy duty undercarriage that includes double flange track roller, heavy duty track link sprocket guard and travel motor guard. Other features include reinforced boom and bucket for improved durability, FOPS cabin, granite bucket with reinforcements, deck guard, HD floor mount cushions and cabin front guard. The machine is fitted with 242 hp engine and weighs 34,500 kg. The PC350 machine is expected to meet the good demand for 35-tonne class excavators arising in the marble and stone segment. L&T and Komatsu have been working closely with the customers in the construction and infrastructure industry to provide fleet solutions and helping them the get the best output. L&T also provides the customers with post-sales activities encompassing maintenance contracts, service support and genuine parts.
