Alexander Eisner, Head of Product Communication ZF Off-Highway
What specific goals and priorities are you aiming to achieve during Excon 2023?
ZF wants to be seen not only as a supplier of axle and transmission technology but as a full system supplier including electrification, braking systems and digital functions for all market segments.
Can you provide insights into the range of automation products you intend to showcase at Excon 2023?
Our focus is set to electrification, and we will showcase tailormade modular concepts for different markets and customers. Electric or CVT driveline technology including our brake by wire systems are the enabler for assisted operation/ADAS in the future.
How is the company looking at leveraging this opportunity at Excon for business growth?
EXCON 2023 is an excellent platform to explore strategic partnerships, showcase our technologically innovative products, and engage with the industry to enhance ZF Group’s image and presence in India, further driving business growth. We leverage this platform for making industry connect, having a deep dialogue with our customers, both current and potential and schedule product demonstrations. This event gives us the opportunity to showcase our newest technological advancements to create valuable opportunities.

Customer Engagement and Brand visibility: Customer-focused sessions and engagement will be one of the key ambitions at EXCON, which establishes our competence and prowess to engage with a wider audience and expand client base. In addition, the platform provides great brand visibility to create a lasting impression on the target audience.
How do you look at your company’s involvement in the smart manufacturing of your automation products?
The basis for any kind of automation is the equivalent and intelligent driveline technology. Here ZF is setting the benchmark for CVT or fully electric solutions. How automation will look like in the future is very dependent on the markets, customer needs and last but not least also on governmental regulations. ZF is prepared to support our customers on the way to zero emissions and smart construction sites.
What do you consider the most critical smart manufacturing technologies for your automation products, and why?
As a first step we see the safety aspect at construction sites as a turn key technology to enter the market. Radar systems like ZFs “Rear Observation Assist” can help to reduce accidents and once the vehicles are equipped with sensor technology and highly capable computers like ZF ProAI derived from our On-Highway business, automated or autonomous operation can be a next step.
How do you intend to assess the performance and outcomes of your business for the coming quarters?
We see big opportunities in the Indian market and we are ready to support infrastructure projects together with our customers as a global TIER 1 supplier and we are able to support with our local production, local engineering, local sales and local service in India.
What is your perspective on the anticipated market dynamics in the sector you are in?
We need to reply to challenging and volatile markets with high flexibility, anticipation and accurate production planning and supporting the growth in India with a local production footprint. Our so called “Best Choice” approach is aiming to deliver the best technology for the relevant markets and customer needs from basic powershift transmissions over CVT driveline solutions to fully electric BEV technology and Intelligent Systems.
Could you elaborate on your company’s initiatives and progress in creating eco-friendly products?
Sustainability is an integral part of ZF Group strategy. Its targets include complete climate neutrality by 2040. However, sustainability means far more to us than climate protection. In addition to climate and nature, we focus on the dimensions of people and lasting values. At EXCON we will also spread that message at the Sustainability Pavilion.
