Briefly describe your company’s range of hoses and hydraulic components designed for construction equipment?

Polyhose is today the largest and most complete manufacturer of hoses from India. Polyhose’s product range covers Rubber, Thermoplastics, PTFE and Stainless-steel hoses and matched end fittings for all these hoses, all manufactured inhouse for a reliable performance. Apart from these flexible lines we also offer custom made metal piping for various construction, earthmoving, and automotive industries. Our portfolio covers both high- and low-pressure hoses for hydraulic, Fuel handing, DEF lines, etc. Apart from construction and heavy earthmoving equipment, we also serve the stationary hydraulic fluid conveyance and critical niche markets like Aerospace and Defence.

Do you offer customization options for hoses and hydraulic components?

Hose is today a mass-produced product, but a variety of options are available to the customer to choose the right type of hose suiting their application best. For example, for the same size and pressure rating of hose, multiple options are available for various levels of abrasion resistance, different options for operating temperatures – ranging from of a high of 150 deg C to a low of -50 Deg C, distinct options for how flexible you want the hose to be etc. So today the customers can choose a hose, highly customized for their application.

How do you ensure the durability and resistance of your products to harsh construction environments?

All hoses are offered to customers with matching end fittings, as the integrity of the hose / fitting interface is the most important feature determining the leak free performance of the hose on the machine. This hose- fitting combination undergoes a rigorous flex fatigue tests which simulate the actual pressure cycling in a real-world situation. The rubber covers and inner tube are designed to withstand the impact of extended exposure to harsh working environment. The in-built high levels of ozone and abrasion resistance and the hose design to ensure low force to bend, (as typically most construction equipment have very compact routing and installation of hydraulic circuits) all contribute to the durability of the product.

Do you provide technical support for selecting the right hoses and hydraulic components for specific construction equipment? How can customers access this support?

Our central R&D at Chennai can develop new materials, processes, and products to meet the performance expectations of our customers both in Construction and Heavy Commercial vehicle industry. Development Engineers are located in all our assembly plants, working closely with OEM customers as well the central R&D function.

How do you ensure that your hoses and hydraulic components are compatible with a wide range of construction equipment?

Different construction equipment needs various levels of flexibility, compactness, pressure cycling resistance and with a wide range of options in flexibility, temperature rating, abrasion resistance and peak pressure resistance, we are able to offer the right hose for the application.

How does your after-sales service work in case of product issues or concerns?

Our country wide network of eight hose assembly locations with trained engineers are readily available to address any customer concerns and offer onsite technical assistance. We also have a have country wide network of Distributors who serve the aftermarket.

How do you manage your supply chain to ensure consistent availability of products?

Our long-term arrangements with our global and domestic suppliers and the leverage we gain by being the largest buyer in India in our industry ensure the robustness of our supply chain for raw materials. On the distribution front our wide network of branches globally with dedicated warehouses all designed to keep the inventory at the closest point to the customers have helped us to deliver one of the most consistent delivery service levels in the industry.

Are there any upcoming innovations or developments in your hoses and hydraulic components that would benefit construction equipment manufacturers?

New hose for fuel line applications with the adoption of stringent emission norms like EU 5, by mobile construction equipment, hoses for different bio fuels, Hydrogen transfer and dispenser hoses   in the Hydrogen ICE and FCEV powered construction equipment, custom tubing for thermal management systems and specialist high temperature hoses are some of the emerging areas where we see our product portfolio growth. We haven also recently added wiring harness in our offering to this industry.

Our network of global locations in nine countries, covering key markets in Europe and North America, with fully equipped warehouses and sales and service teams give us the reach and ability to work closely with our distributors and customers.
