Which are the major verticals that are driving the demand for mini/compact excavators and which tonnage / hp are more in demand?

Agricultural segment is the highest contributor to the demand for mini excavator segment in India. Currently the sector includes excavators from 1T to 4T categories. Most of these excavators are used in applications such as pineapple, rubber and coffee plantations. There is also a lot of demand from compact construction sites and municipal work including pipe laying and lifting. In Kerala, where mini excavators sell in maximum numbers, they are used in foundation excavation for independent houses apart from agriculture applications. Many mini excavators also are being used in the cement factories for wagon unloading.

What makes a Hyundai compact excavator more useful or preferable?

Mini excavators have many advantages. To begin with, the zero-tail swing that Hyundai excavators offer helps them to work in tight and compact work spaces. Our mini excavators are versatile machines that can be used for multiple applications including in-house applications such as warehouse. Another advantage that mini excavators have is the ease of transportation. Mini excavators can be transported in light commercial vehicles thus easing the machine logistics.

Could you elaborate on the unique features of your range of compact excavators?

Hyundai mini excavators have various unique features that make it a must have. The excavators have a zero-tail swing radius that helps them work in compact spaces closer to walls and obstructions. They also feature a dozer blade that makes them quite versatile. Hyundai excavators offer canopy and cabin options to our customers so they can choose the best possible option for their applications. We have also placed a special emphasis on fuel efficiency of our mini-excavators while maintaining the productivity derived out of them.

What have been the trends in using various attachments with compact excavators?

We have witnessed a good demand for rock breaker applications coming from the mini excavator customers. The mini excavator being a versatile machine, we have also seen quick couplers being used increasingly with them.  Also, given the compact size of the machine, pallet fork attachments are being demanded for warehousing applications.
