In 2023, Volvo CE India showcased its leadership in sustainable construction with the launch of several electric machines. Highlights included the EC80 – India’s 1st battery electric 8-tonne excavator, EC500 – India’s first grid-connected electric excavator in the 50-ton class, and the L120 electric wheel loader, offering zero emissions and near-silent operation. Additionally, Volvo CE presented India-developed electric compactors, the DD40 and PT220, which promise energy cost reductions and cleaner operations. These innovations underscore Volvo CE India’s commitment to advancing sustainable, high-performance machinery tailored to local market needs. Not just this, our recently launched EC210 Hydraulic Excavator is a high-performance machine designed for efficiency and productivity in demanding construction and mining environments, it integrates advanced technologies that reduce fuel consumption by up to 15-20% compared to other conventional models.

Volvo CE India is also committed to sustainability in manufacturing, with solar-powered facilities and a 30% reduction in energy consumption. Through our remanufacturing programs, we’ve refurbished over 10,000 components, fostering a circular economy.
