Unprecedented global collapse in demand caused by the pandemic led UK-based excavator maker JCB to shut down production at its nine British manufacturing plants through the end of March.
However, shop-floor workers affected by the move will continue to be paid while many office staff continue to work from home. Following suit is the Tadano Group, halting operations at its Lauf and Zweibrücken sites in Germany on a temporary basis. The decision has been taken to safeguard the health of its employees. Business trips, face-to-face meetings, and training remain suspended until further notice.
