The CE sector strives for and welcomes any innovations and upgrades in the equipment. Indian earthmoving equipment line is also full of technological features which not only provide safety of the operator but at the same time takes care of the machine’s health as well.

What are the driving factors that are expected to fuel growth of telematics in the earthmoving equipment market?

Technology has always supported the growth of a market or an industry. Today, the customers are vying for products that make the job easier and efficient. And Case India believes in developing and upgrading machines and technologies as per the changing needs of its customers. Telematics is one such upgrade that helps optimize a machine’s usage.  It’s an intuitive system that gathers critical data but presents it in an easy to engage manner. This feature keeps a track of the working and maintenance of the machine. It also sends out alarms in real time to prevent any damage and keeps an eye on the location of the equipment. Such features help in boosting the productivity and reducing downtime which are both lucrative factors and can drive the incorporation of telematics further.

Are there any chances of further upgradation in the earthmoving equipment sector?

The CE sector strives for and welcomes any innovations and upgrades in the equipment. CASE has globally changed the landscape of the construction equipment sector by delivering better upgradations and innovations via our machines that increase productivity and decrease downtime. Testament to this is our FPT engine which saves fuel and increases machine uptime and CHEX, our first excavator designed for the Indian terrain which delivers faster cycle times and higher productivity.  Globally CNH Industrial have introduced concepts like Project TETRA wheel loader which works on a methane engine and ensures 15 percent less CO2 and 99 percent less particulate matter than its diesel-based counterpart. Apart from that the CNH Industrial’s Autonomous tractor concept boosting precision and productivity which works on driverless technology is another benchmark set by the company globally.

What are the technological trends in the earthmoving equipment industry?

We’re seeing a lot of new trends in the CE sector, most of which include moving towards advanced technology and sustainability. CASE has always been at the forefront of technology. Globally, we have introduced a lot of product concepts which are loaded with advanced technological features like Project TETRA and our Autonomous tractor concept which is a completely driverless, remotely controlled equipment which can increase a working day to a full 24 hours thereby increasing productivity. We’ve also launched excavators with Case Intelligent Hydraulic System (CIHS) which actively manages hydraulic power throughout lift/dump and dig/curl movements to maximize speed and efficiency while reducing fuel consumption by minimizing unnecessary hydraulic flow.

Our Indian earthmoving equipment line is also full of technological features which not only provide safety of the operator but at the same time takes care of the machine’s health as well. We have the FPT technology which saves fuel cost and increases the uptime of the machine at the same time we also have smart features like Eagle Eye Telematics solution, which provide information and alerts regarding the equipment and comes with a Geo-fencing feature to monitor movement of the machine.

We have always believed in incorporating technology that enables and increases productivity for our customers and will continue to do so.

Were there any challenges faced with regards to adoption of telematics in earthmoving equipment?

In today’s times, people are looking forward to owning machines that decrease their workload and come with increased efficiency and productivity. Telematics is an upgrade that optimizes the usage of a machine and provides efficiency, productivity, safety and more. So, there weren’t many challenges in the adoption. At CASE, we’re firm believers in adopting technology that enables us to work better – Our machines are prime examples of this. Whether it is the revolutionary FPT engine or our state of the art Telematics systems – we like leading from the front when it comes to technology that empowers.

What is the future outlook and growth prospects of the earthmoving equipment market?

The unprecedented nature of the Covid 19 pandemic has slowed the pace of the construction sector. However, the government is trying its best to secure the lives of the people and at the same time maintain the stability in the market. The government had recently made some announcements which ensured that the sector will not slow down. We’re hopeful that this indicates some big investments in the near future which could prove vital to the overall recovery and growth of the industry. Meanwhile we’re preparing ourselves for the future as well. We’ve boosted our capital availability, engaged with customers and understood their needs, we’ve ensured our dealers are up to date with the latest product training and we’ve given our existing customers extensions and waivers where necessary – all with a view to prepare for the future and hit the ground running. Onwards and upwards!
