Within the first decade, the small construction firm develops into a well-established manufacturer of construction machinery and many other technologically sophisticated products. In post-war Germany, many parts of the country need to be rebuilt. Dr.Hans Liebherr founder of the company manages his parents’ building firm in South Germany. He recognizes the need for tools and machinery for the building industry and domestic construction. In 1969 From Ehingen to the whole wide world Liebherr expands not just outside of, but also within Germany.

The “Liebherr-WerkEhingen GmbH”, Germany is founded, whereupon it develops into the leading provider of mobile cranes and crawler cranes. Despite tough competitive conditions, Liebherr’s order books completely fill up in the ensuing years. Export picks up pace. The research and development department makes its contribution towards a successful expansion. Whether truck-mounted cranes, ship cranes or offshore solutions – the engineers work meticulously at finding new opportunities for deployment and ever-increasing payloads.

 Since it was founded in 1969, Liebherr-WerkEhingen GmbH has developed into being the global market leader for mobile and crawler cranes. During the last 45 years the manufacturing plant and its capacities have therefore been continuously expanded. The company gives work today to a workforce of over 3,800 employees.

Liebherr Mobile Crane Division Milestones

1969: Liebherr-WerkEhingen GmbH is founded and initially produces truck mounted and ship cranes.

1970: The plant receives its first major order: The Soviet state acquisition company Maschinoimport orders 50 telescopic cranes.

1977: The LTM 1025, the first all-terrain mobile crane worldwide, is perfect for combined use on-road and off-road, and therefore sets new benchmarks.

1981: Liebherr in Ehingen receives a major order from the Soviet state acquisition company for the delivery of 333 telescopic mobile cranes with extra equipment for use at temperatures as low as minus 50°C.

1990: Liebherr beats strong international competitors and receives a major order from the German Federal Office of Defense Technology and Procurement for the delivery of 459 mobile cranes.

2008: Investments are pushed ahead and an area of 200,000 m² is bought. The company site is 850,000 m² today.

2012: The LR 13000 sets new benchmarks as the strongest conventional crawler crane in the world with a lifting capacity of 3,000 tons and lifting height of 245 meters.

Our Liebherr make 450T capacity All Terrain Crane – Model LTM 1450-8.1 features a very long yet powerful 85 metre telescopic boom with single engine. The Liebherr 8-axle crane has been designed for worldwide cost-effective mobility and fast, easy set-up on site, which has resulted in the LTM 1450-8.1 being capable of travelling on public roads with a 12-tonne axle load including its 85 metre long telescopic boom, all supports and a complete hoist winch. This means that it can be quickly prepared for use once it reaches the site.

Liebherr unveiled recently 650T capacity All Terrain Crane –Model LTM1650-8.1 at the Bauma 2019 event, the successor to the legendary LTM 1500-8.1, the best-selling large crane ever.Of course, this heavy-duty crane has the same genetic concept as its predecessor i.e. ultimate performance on eight axles. The result is that the 8-axle crane can complete hoisting work in the 700-tonne class or even higher with ease. It therefore has a nominal lifting capacity of 700 tonnes. In a lifting capacity comparison, the LTM 1650-8.1 exceeds its predecessor’s capacity by between 15 and 50 percent, depending on its equipment package. LTM1650-8.1 has got the max lifting capacity 700T @ 3m working radius with 80m main boom with single engine which is important factor considering the fuel consumption which affect the direct operation cost of the project.

Our Crane Model LTM1750-9.1 has excellent success in India, till date we have sold 2 no’s in India in The key feature of the 9-axle LTM 1750-9.1 is that, it can carry its entire telescopic boom on public roads. Its high load capacities and variable boom Systems enable it to cover a wide range of uses. In terms of its construction, this Liebherr make 800T capacity All Terrain mobile crane is designed for particularly short set-up times. The lifting capacity 800T @3m working radius with 52m main boom and 91m strong luffing jib makes the crane the best in the world in 800T capacity class.

Liebherr make 1200T capacity All Terrain Crane Model LTM11200-9.1 the 9 axle crane delivers maximum load capacity and one of the longest telescopic booms in the world. Various lattice extensions are also available. The Y telescopic boom guying delivers significant increases in load capacity. The 9-axle chassis includes active, speed-dependent rear-axle steering developed by Liebherr. When it comes to other types of mobile cranes in India, there has been a marked increase in interest but a significant drop in rental rates over the last couple of years due to intense competition and the large quantity of machines flooding the market.
