Wirtgen leads the world market in road and mineral technologies.
There is a slight dip in demand in road sector due to low award of projects, which has affected the new machine sales. But this is not a dramatic dip but a marginal drop in sales. We expect this to pick up after monsoon.

How do you view the current market for road construction equipment in India? What are the key demand drivers today?
There is a slight dip in demand in road sector due to low award of projects, which has affected the new machine sales. But this is not a dramatic dip but a marginal drop in sales. We expect this to pick up after monsoon.
Please provide a brief overview of your key road construction equipment offerings (e.g., pavers, compactors, milling machines, any equipment used for road construction).

Alongside machine efficiency and alternative applications and methods, digitization and connected system solutions are important drivers in the development of the overall road construction process chain. The Wirtgen Group has developed application-specific core technologies as well as digital solutions and technologies of tomorrow that which are already available for our customers.
Are there any innovations in engine technology, hydraulics, or powertrain systems that contribute significantly to improved equipment output?
At the Group level, Hamm has already made a start in the electric construction machine segment with a choice of eight electrified tandem rollers. The MOBIREX MR 130(i) PRO impact crusher with the E-DRIVE drive concept and an external electric power supply option. The new battery-electric MINI 500e and MINI 502e Mini Class road pavers from Vögele are the ideal choice for local zero-emission asphalt paving projects.
What are the key challenges road equipment manufacturers face in the current market scenario?
The challenge in road sector is DEMAND, not Supply. All the major manufacturers have enough capacity but are operating way below their production capacities. Growth Demand is a challenge as the average CAGR is only 7-10% for past few years. AS for exports all major players are exporting from India. We export almost 50% of our products outside India.
