Tell us about the demand- supply scenario for hydraulic breakers.
Owing to the pandemic, like most products in the construction equipment segment, the rock breaker market was also adversely affected. This is because most construction and infrastructure activity came to a standstill during the period of the lock-down. However after the unlock it is encouraging to see some Green shoots coming back. We see infrastructure activity resuming slowly and are hopeful of a recovery in the coming quarters. As of now there is no demand supply gap for Rock Breakers. Sufficient Inventory has been built up over the past few months. Rock breakers form an integral part in the overall infrastructure development space. They are utilised in various parts of the value chain and have gained immense popularity in the past few years. JCB rock breakers can be fitted on a wide range of our machines. We offer 12 different types of rock breakers. These are suitable for the smaller 3 ton Mini Excavator to the larger 38 ton category of JCB excavators and are being deployed as per application requirements.
