What kind of construction equipment operator training and skilling is provided by your company?
At our company, we are dedicated to providing comprehensive operator training and skilling programs. We conduct training along with skills’ development initiatives, focusing on specific states or zones according to cluster zones. A targeted approach to ensure that operators receive training tailored to their region’s unique requirements.
How is the operator training program structured?
Our operator training program is designed to maximize learning and skill development. It consists of a combination of virtual training or classroom sessions and on-the-job training conducted by our experienced senior engineers or product specialists. This approach ensures that operators gain both theoretical knowledge and practical skills.
What specific topics are covered in the operator training program like equipment operation and controls, safety procedures and protocols, preventive maintenance etc.?
Our operator training program is designed to provide comprehensive training to operators, covering key areas such as daily, weekly, and monthly checklists, standard operating procedures for equipment and plants, conducting preventive audits of critical components, men and machine safety training, and optimizing plant/equipment performance in terms of production, quality, and cost. Our aim is to ensure safe and efficient equipment operation and maintenance, fostering the culture of safety, at all times, in conjunction with productivity. Our program emphasizes the importance of adhering to procedures, conducting regular safety training, and maximizing the potential of our machinery for optimal results.
How do you assess the effectiveness of your operator training programs?
We have a rigorous assessment process in place to evaluate the effectiveness of our operator training programs. Our Service Engineers (SEs) conduct proactive visits or preventive visits to assess factors such as plant availability (uptime), plant/equipment health condition, and breakdown analysis reports. This evaluation helps us identify strengths and areas for improvement, ensuring our training programs continually meet the needs of operators.
How does your company provide periodic training courses for experienced operators?
On-going training for experienced operators is pivotal, which is why our company conducts periodic training courses on-site based on the specific requirements of our customers. These courses cover topics such as re-commissioning, critical assembly/sub-assembly, and productivity optimization. Our highly skilled service engineers deliver these courses, equipping experienced operators with the latest knowledge and techniques.
Do you collaborate with external entities or organizations to enhance operator training?
Indeed! Collaboration with external entities is an integral part of enhancing our operator training programs. We work closely with our vendors and suppliers to provide comprehensive training. Their expertise and support contribute to both on-the-job and classroom training. Additionally, we arrange for external entities to visit the site and provide specialized training based on customer needs.
How do you envision the future of operator training in the CE manufacturing industry? Are there any specific areas your company plans to focus on in the coming years?
Looking ahead, we envision a future of continuous improvement in operator training by establishing a School of Excellence to deliver recurring training to operators. This initiative will ensure that operators stay updated on new developments and features in our machines.
What challenges do you face in providing effective operator training, and how do you overcome them?
Language barriers can present a challenge during operator training, especially when operators are neither fluent in English nor Hindi. To overcome this, we are implementing innovative solutions. Through the development of our Propel Nxt App, we intend to share new updates and features of our machines, making important information accessible to operators in the language of their preference.
Any additional comments, suggestions, or insights related to operator training and skilling in the CE manufacturing sector.
In the construction equipment manufacturing sector, operator training and up-skilling are vital components for ensuring safe and efficient operations. Continuously enhancing training programs to align with technological advancements and industry best practices is essential. Collaborations with educational institutions, industry associations, and government bodies can foster innovation and improve training initiatives. Regular evaluation and feedback mechanisms should be established to identify areas for improvement and address skill gaps effectively. By prioritizing operator training and skilling, the construction equipment manufacturing sector can enhance productivity, efficiency, and overall safety standards, leading to a prosperous industry.
