What was your company’s focus at bauma Munich this year?
At bauma, Kubota stressed our key message of ‘One source-multiple solutions.’
That means Kubota has highly efficient and cost-effective engine solutions for virtually any customer application. At bauma we highlighted the fact that Kubota provides options – not only diesel engines – but also hybrid systems, alternative fuels and both smaller and larger displacement engines.
We also used the event to underline our commitment to the environment as the markets adapt to carbon neutral trends and new technologies.
Of course, bauma was a great platform to showcase and launch our newest efficient and environmentally friendly products such as the new D902-K and D1105-K engine models which enhance our line-up of electronically controlled and ICT capable engines below 19 kW, featuring our new combustion design developed exclusively for small engines, we call TVCR.
We also displayed our diverse range of alternative fuel technologies and solutions including Compressed Natural Gas, gasoline, Liquefied Petroleum Gas and Micro Hybrid engines.
Lastly, our flagship 09 Series, the V5009 engine – our range-leading diesel engine above 200 HP.”
How has bauma Munich helped in leveraging opportunity for business development and growth?
As the Kubota range of leading-edge products and solutions continues to constantly evolve and expand, our booth at bauma was the ideal stage to display our highly diverse portfolio and new technologies and connect with our customers and partners in person.
Our new and enhanced, prime booth location at bauma meant we were able to host a significantly increased number of face-to-face meetings with existing, and potentially new, customers. The products on show attracted a very high number of visitors eager to see, first hand, how Kubota can offer multiple solutions for many machine applications and construction industry segments.
The interest in our innovative products and technologies was huge & the quality of the conversations with visitors was first class.
The markets are changing significantly as the world continues its drive towards carbon neutrality and bauma provided the opportunity for Kubota to demonstrate that it is at the very heart of this global initiative with our expanding and innovative range of “greener” products and technologies.
Furthermore, as 2022 represents the 100th anniversary year of Kubota Engine Division, it was also a fantastic opportunity to reflect upon the pioneering efforts of our colleagues and our customer partners with whom many have supported our journey for many, many decades!
What are the bottlenecks & suggestions to iron out those challenges in the construction equipment industry?
Focusing on the construction equipment sector in general, and as a whole, one of the challenges it faces relates to stability within supply chains. For example, the supply of key component parts and critical materials has been a challenge for the industry for some time and is likely to continue to be, perhaps for many months.
Another challenge relates to shipping container availability and seaport capacity, especially at larger hub ports. Some ports are facing real challenges to be as efficient as they could be for many reasons, leading to extended delays with the processing and movement of goods. This means the whole supply chain continues to face levels of uncertainty.
Construction equipment companies and key component suppliers are continuously re-evaluating their supply chains to ensure continuous, reliable sources of materials and components.
Global uncertainty resulting from conflicts and challenging economic head winds, whilst still very much under the shadow from a global pandemic, also mean that markets are volatile and unpredictable.
