According to Polyhose founder and MD, YJ Shabbir, the flexible hydraulic hoses have been around the world since 1940s. During the second world war there was a surge in demand and some of the tyre manufactures from the US and Europe developed products for the Defence application .
As the industry evolved the manufacturers from America and Europe expanded their capacity and started serving the major markets in the world. The Indian market for a long time was dependent on imports from the US and Europe for their requirement of hydraulic hose.
“I was importing and supplying hydraulic hoses from various global manufacturer’s. But then I spotted the opportunity in this segment and decided to begin my journey by incorporating Polyhose India during 1996,” Shabbir said.
Polyhose India had started its journey with a small team of seven members for manufacturing PVC hoses, thermoplastic hoses with technical know how from Polyhose UK and later expanded into manufacturing of rubber hydraulic hoses during the year 2004.
“From then onwards, there has been no looking back and the company has been expanding rapidly in India and the global markets by acquiring companies in Europe and establishing its own operation in all major markets,” Shabbir said.
Today Polyhose is in a very unique position with the widest range of products in fluid conveyance market as well the largest manufacturing capacity for hydraulic/ industrial/thermoplastic hoses in India.
With this wide portfolio, Polyhose serves a broad spectrum of applications in automotive and industrial markets, from brake and fuel lines in CV and two wheelers, to high pressure fluid conveyance in construction, earthmoving and heavy industry, Defence, Railways etc.
Polyhose has also added specialist product lines – critical fluid conveyance lines for aircraft in our aerospace division, which is the only NADCAP accredited facility in the country for fluid lines, high quality precision tubing for medical and pharma industry and stainless steel flexible hoses.
Today Polyhose is the largest exporter of rubber and thermoplastic hoses from India, exporting all over the globe with own assembly and warehouse facilities in US, UK, Europe and further expanding to new geographies.
