Sanjay Agarwal, Managing Director, Filtrec Bharat Manufacturing

What are the current technology trends for your products (Filters) in infrastructure equipment?

At Filtrec Bharat, we are dedicated to pioneering innovations in hydraulic filtration, investing over 5% of our revenue in R&D. Our latest technologies address critical issues in hydraulic circuits, such as the entrapment of dirt and foreign particles, varnish and sludge formation, oxidation, rust, noise, rapid aging, and hydraulic oil degradation. Our advanced Anti-Varnish Media combats varnish and sludge buildup, while the Absolute Beta Spark Buster Filter eliminates ESD noise, ensuring smoother operation. The Absolute BETA H20 Filter effectively prevents oxidation and rust, extending the lifespan of hydraulic components. Additionally, our new SYN media in Absolute filtration technology extends oil and filter change intervals, significantly reducing the need for frequent maintenance and minimizing the risk of breakdowns. These innovations enhance the reliability and efficiency of hydraulic systems, safeguarding critical components like valves, cylinders, and pumps.

What sustainable innovations has your company implemented in your manufacturing processes?

At Filtrec Bharat company, we are committed to sustainability through several key innovations. Our lean manufacturing approach helps minimize waste and enhance efficiency. We prioritize energy efficiency by using advanced machinery and energy-saving lighting. Looking ahead, we are excited to further our commitment by installing solar panels to harness renewable energy and reduce our carbon footprint. These efforts reflect our dedication to environmentally responsible manufacturing practices and continuous improvement in sustainability.

How do your products (Filters) help extend the life of construction equipment?

Extending the Life of Construction Equipment with Filtrec Filters: Filtrec hydraulic filters are essential for enhancing the performance and longevity of construction equipment. By effectively removing contaminants like particles, debris, and impurities from hydraulic fluids, these filters protect vital components such as pumps, valves, and cylinders from wear and tear. This prevents equipment failure, reduces the need for costly repairs, and extends the machinery’s lifespan. Filtrec filters ensure clean hydraulic fluid, which maintains optimal efficiency and system reliability, minimizes downtime and boosts productivity on construction sites. Their high-quality filtration capabilities help construction equipment operate at peak performance, maximizing efficiency and durability.

How do your products (Filters) contribute to reducing the environmental impact of construction equipment?

Filtrec Bharat Manufacturing Pvt. Ltd. is dedicated to sustainability through our principles of “sustainable product, sustainable process, and sustainable people.” Our hydraulic filters play a key role in reducing the environmental impact of construction equipment. We start with responsible sourcing of eco-friendly raw materials and extend this ethos through our entire production and logistics process.

Our “Complete Hydraulic Filters Kits - Excavator” initiative exemplifies our commitment to sustainability. By encouraging end-users to change filters annually rather than multiple times a year, we reduce the number of filters needed, thus decreasing waste and environmental impact. Our filters achieve 99.99% accuracy in removing contaminants from hydraulic oil, which maintains oil cleanliness for longer periods, reduces wear on equipment, and extends service life. This efficiency lowers the need for frequent maintenance and replacements, conserving resources and minimizing waste. Filtrec is continually innovating to produce filters that support environmentally responsible construction practices.

How is the demand for your products (Filters) growing in the CE sector?

The demand for Filtrec Bharat’s products in the Construction Equipment (CE) sector is experiencing significant growth, driven by evolving customer expectations and market dynamics. End customers increasingly demand high-quality, cost-effective solutions with reliable delivery times, making the QCD (Quality, Cost & Delivery) aspect a critical focus for us.

To meet these expectations and stay competitive against German and Chinese competitors, we are prioritizing the localization of content. Our goal is to achieve 80% localized production, which not only helps in reducing costs but also ensures faster delivery and greater adaptability to local market needs. This strategic move enables us to offer top-notch products at more competitive prices, aligning with the customers’ demand for value without compromising on quality. Our commitment to innovation and sustainability, coupled with a focus on meeting stringent QCD requirements, positions us well to capitalize on the growing demand in the CE sector.

How important is collaboration with other industry stakeholders (e.g., equipment manufacturers, regulatory bodies) in promoting sustainability?

Collaboration with industry stakeholders, such as equipment manufacturers and regulatory bodies, is crucial in advancing sustainability initiatives. At Filtrec, our partnerships have enabled us to make significant progress in environmental responsibility. Working closely with equipment manufacturers, we’ve developed innovative solutions, like our redesigned series for the after-market, which includes a shift from metal to recyclable plastic components. This collaborative effort ensures that materials can be easily recycled after use, aligning with eco-friendly practices.

Moreover, engaging with regulatory bodies helps us adhere to environmental standards and promote best practices across the industry. Our introduction of a new media that significantly reduces pressure drop in hydraulic systems is a prime example of how these collaborations lead to tangible benefits, such as lower power requirements and reduced fuel consumption for earthmovers. Such partnerships are integral to our commitment to sustainability, driving the development of products and processes that contribute to a greener world.

What are the main challenges in adopting green technologies? How have you addressed these challenges?

Challenges in Adopting Green Technologies at Filtrec Bharat.

At Filtrec Bharat, we face several challenges in adopting green technologies.

Cost Implications: Green technologies often have higher initial costs for development and implementation. We address this by investing in R&D to optimize processes and materials, ultimately reducing costs over time. Our commitment to increased localization also helps minimize expenses and reduce our carbon footprint.

Supply Chain Constraints: Securing eco-friendly materials and components can be challenging. We tackle this by forging strong partnerships with suppliers and prioritizing sustainable sourcing practices, ensuring a more reliable supply of materials.
