How do you look at the present market conditions for your products?
Present market conditions looks good for our products including our heavy duty Maxxdrive. With extensive knowledge of applications and technical demand for the sector, we can offer a full featured drive from a single source consisting of gear units, motors, brakes and frequency inverters. With wide range of products with high quality we can offer system solutions for various applications like storage, conveying, weighing & metering, loading and unloading etc.
Customers are becoming focused on green initiatives and savings in fuel costs and leaving a lesser carbon footprint. Could you please help us understand the green initiatives on product development undertaken by your organization?
Saving the environment incl. developing efficient products is part of our corporate policy:
Environment Economic, profit-oriented development and protection of our environment and energy savings are not understood as conflicting interests but rather a common goal. For this reason, we are committed to protection of the environment and prevent environmental pollution to the best of our ability. Our environmental management system is focused on the following aspects of our business activities:
- Reduction and substitution, or careful handling of water pollutants, in particular in production processes such as painting.
- Resource-efficient product design of new products and packaging materials.
- Reduction of greenhouse gases in logistics processes, the use of heating methods, electricity consumption or business trips.
- Reduction of waste, in particular hazardous waste from production processes.
- Coordination of manufacturing methods for purchased components and their delivery The annual production of an environmental programme is a fixed component of our environmental management system. In particular, this includes stipulation of environmental targets for the improvement of our In the development of new products or production methods we consider the relevant environmental impacts of their production and use at an early stage, as well as after the end of the useful life of our products. For this reason, we optimise our development process over the entire life cycle according to sustainability aspects and consciously attempt to consider conflicts of interests, such as between the use of materials and the service life of our products. In product development, we also take care that our products contribute to the reduction of energy and other resources when they are used by our customers. Wherever possible we minimise our emissions and waste products, as well as the use of energy, water, area and other resources in our production and logistic processes. In the context of our management system, we regularly monitor our use of resources and emissions such as noise and air pollution, and report on specific developments.
What are your after-sales initiatives for your range of products?
Usually a very rightly selected product do not call for any after sales support. But if needed we have a qualified team of after sales globally which takes care of support to our product. We have “one product Global warranty” supported by International service request concept to support customers worldwide.
With the heavy increase in the expenditure for infrastructure development in this country, how do you think you are going to utilize the opportunity? Are you planning to add more products in the future?
We believe in gathering experience and actually addressing the challenges that are faced in any industry sector. Our R&D is continuously working towards proving solutions to typical applications in this industry. On these lines, we have come up separate range of IGUs with MAXXDRIVE XT. These are reliable drive units with maximum thermal and mechanical load capacities with greatly increased bearing life are necessary in material handling technology for transporting bulk materials. To achieve the maximum thermal load capacity, the perfect contour of the gear unit housing was developed with the aid of CFD analysis and the air flow of the integrated axial fan was optimized to achieve a highly efficient cooling effect. This avoids any external cooling required. The range starts from 15000Nm and goes upto 75000 Nm covering a wide range of applications for bulk material handling. NORD is also developing products in line with Industry 4.0 to increase reliability and help in planned maintenance of the complete drive system including gear unit, motor, frequency inverter. Our Industry 4.0 ready products helps to automate & digitalize the material handling also in predictive maintenance.
