How do you look at the present market conditions for your products?
Arx Mining and Construction Equipment Limited has currently three categories of products
Mining and Construction – where we just launched a new range of Motor graders. These are 32T (315 HP), 20T (220 HP) , 16T (173 HP) and 11.5T (121 HP) Weights here are with all attachments and base weight will be slightly lower. We also launched a 6-8” Rotary cum DTH Track mounted Blast Hole Drill. We also have a truck mounted Dust suppression machine which can blow atomised water mist to a distance of 100 m in ideal conditions. The market conditions for all the above-mentioned products is booming. Coal mining is one of the increased focus areas for India. The graders also have a huge opportunity as road building is getting accelerated.
The second category of products is our Cargo Handling equipment range. Here, we have a range of two models of 45 T x 5 high Container reach stackers, 6 types of heavy duty forklifts ranging from 10T to 35 T, 3 models of empty container handlers – one a reach stacker and two models of side lifters. This segment is also booming with a heavy demand generated by the ecommerce boom.
The third category is where we represent the Government business operations division of HIAB (part of the Cargotec group). Hiab is one of the world’s leaders in knuckle boom cranes and hook lifters. These cranes are running with the Indian Air Force and also the army. This segment has a huge potential as our defence budget has been and will continue to be very high for many years.
Can you brief us on your export market?
We will be commencing exports in 2024 primarily to the Middle east, Africa and Southeast Asia. In 2025, the graders will enter the US market also. The dates are based on emission regulation planning in various countries and discussions with engine manufacturers.
Customers are becoming focused on green initiatives and savings in fuel costs and leaving a lesser carbon footprint. Could you please help us understand the green initiatives on product development undertaken by your organisation?
We currently use engines from Cummins, Scania and Volvo Penta. All of them have engines which work with LNG / CNG, HVO 100 (Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil). The infrastructure in India is not yet set up to get these easily. Apart from this we are working with our transmission suppliers and moving up from powershift transmissions to CVTs which will reduce fuel consumption substantially.
