What is your focus for Excon this year?
We are basically a construction equipment company and we have been in the business of crushing for a long time. This year, we have introduced two specific machines. One is washing equipment which is old equipment in the market but we have introduced it too. Second is the vertical shaft impactor which is new generation equipment. This machine gives more percentage of M Sand and plaster sand.
So our focus, this year, is to get in touch with certain customers. Many of our customers already know our products. But we want to introduce these two products to them.
What are the features of your products launched at Excon?
Washing Equipment is basically a washing of sand and M sand. Normally, there is a screen, a tank and a hydro-cyclo pump. In the Vertical Shaft Impactor, we have made it to a larger capacity which can take about 500 tonnes per hour and it has a unique drive. Usually in Vertical Shaft Impactors, they have two motors on two opposite sides. But here, in our machines, we have put it on one side. This is basically to avoid great tensioning problems. Because when you have dual motors, there is slight difference in tensioning here and there, it gives an effect on the bearings of those Vertical Shaft Impactors.
So, to avoid that, we have placed both motors on one side wherein tension is on one side and it is more or less even.
What are your after-market initiatives from the end-users point of view?
We have our service network for after-market initiatives, especially in southern part of India. At Karnataka itself, we have at 3 – 4 locations and at Tamil Nadu we have one. In Chennai, we also have a spare depot and now we are expanding our spare depot locations at many places like Mumbai and Pune. Now, we are planning to install one depot at Kolhapur.
So, we are planning to make spare and service at almost every customer’s hands-on availability.
Where do you look at Diamond Crusher down the line five years?
Our vision is to become one of the best manufacturers in India in terms of quality. We have introduced cone crushers and we want to improve the quality of this equipment in the coming years. We have started supplying crushing plants for 40 – 50 projects and we will concentrate more on that so that our business increases.
