What is the overall mission and vision of Messe Munchen India in organizing Gujarat CONEX?

Today, Gujarat is upgrading its infrastructure to attract investments in industry and improve its residents’ quality of living. Gujarat CONEX will provide a platform to foster collaborations between the construction and infrastructure stakeholders in the region, thus facilitating improved efficiency and productivity leading to faster project completion in the western region of India, comprising states like Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Maharashtra.

Share with us a brief overview of this inaugural edition of Gujarat CONEX. What are the primary goals and objectives of this trade fair?

Gujarat CONEX 2023 will witness 300+ exhibiting brands showcasing 500+ products spread over 15,000 sqm of exhibition space. Some of the top exhibiting companies include JCB India, Wirtgen India, Amman Apollo, Peri, Propel, ACE, LiuGong India, L&T and Komatsu, Puzzolana, Schwing Stetter, SANY, Volvo, KYB Conmat, Apollo Infratech, Hailstone, and more. In keeping with our tradition of enabling meaningful handshakes and unlocking business opportunities, our aim is to bring the entire construction ecosystem under one roof to deliberate on furthering infrastructure growth in Gujarat and India.

How does Gujarat CONEX contribute to the advancement of the construction and infrastructure equipment industry in India?

Infra development is a primary growth driver of the Indian economy. Today, Gujarat is the front-runner in infra development and is becoming an ideal model to boost India’s growth story. While the main show bauma CONEXPO INDIA continues to serve the pan-Indian market through its main edition in Greater Noida every alternate year, its interest lies in developing the local equipment manufacturing ecosystem in high-growth epicentres across the country.

In what ways does the Messe Munchen India promote innovation, technological advancements, and knowledge sharing within the industry?

Gujarat CONEX is a vibrant marketplace where equipment manufacturers get an opportunity to showcase their equipment capabilities, network with industry professionals, generate leads and increase brand visibility. The show not only showcases the latest technology, but also brings together the best of the industry experts, thought leaders, technology suppliers, and decision-makers to network, gain insights and collaborate.

Could you walk us through the process of planning and organizing Gujarat CONEX? What are the key challenges you face in making the event a success?

After identifying the opportunity in the western region for infra development, Gujarat CONEX 2023 was planned jointly by Messe Muenchen India and K and D Communication, in association with Gujarat Contractors Association (GCA). These organizations are ensuring that Gujarat CONEX engages with the infra development communities from across India and attracting them to the show. One of the key challenges in executing an event of this scale is assessing and mitigating the risk involved with heavy machinery. Having organized an event like bauma CONEXPO INDIA, we are well-versed in detecting potential problem areas, identifying solutions to prevent them, and putting safety measures in place.

What strategies have you employed to ensure that Gujarat CONEX remains relevant and aligned with the changing needs of the industry?

Getting the relevant partners onboard is an important way to align with the needs of the local industry. This is precisely the thought process behind joining forces with GCA and K and D Communication. Gujarat Contractors Association (GCA) represents a powerful association of contracting companies in the state, while K and D Communication is renowned for ENGIMACH which is one of India’s most successful international exhibitions in the engineering and manufacturing sectors for the last 25 years.

Some of our other strategic partnerships are with the Construction Equipment Rental Association (CERA), Crane Owners Association of India (COAOI), and Builders Association of India (BAI). Thus, the strength of Gujarat CONEX lies in its capability to bring together all the stakeholders and important decision-makers in the construction and infrastructure sector under one roof.

How do you ensure a seamless and engaging event for both exhibitors and visitors? How do you facilitate networking and collaboration among industry professionals during the event?

We are offering an unmatched experience to our visitors through live product demos, knowledge-rich conferences, international buyer-seller meetings, B2B seminars, and business-to-government sessions. Apart from these, we are felicitating the unsung heroes of the construction industry at the 3rd Vibrant Summit and Awards organized by GCA.

What role do you see Gujarat CONEX playing in shaping the future of the construction and infrastructure equipment sector in India?

Increased automation and mechanization in construction equipment play a major role in driving infrastructure delivery. There is a continual upsurge in construction activities throughout the country and the use of heavy machinery at construction sites has only increased exponentially. Global OEMs are increasingly interested in manufacturing and sourcing from India.
