How do you assess the growth opportunities for asphalt plants in India? How geared up are you to meet the expected surge in demand?

Alltech Group considers this high surge of growth opportunities for asphalt plants as an opportunity for development of road infrastructure in India, since asphalt plants help lay the sheer quality hot mix which increases the flexibility of roads.

We have geared up in advanced plants as we had acted on this surge in demand by starting the manufacturing of high-end 200, 240 TPH asphalt batch mix plants, which will cater the road construction companies to produce large quantity of hot mix in minimum time. Our 240 TPH asphalt plants have been successfully producing optimum quality hot mix on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway and we are looking forward to proceed with the same for the upcoming projects like the Delhi-Katra and Ganga Expressway.

Green initiatives around the world, including India, has pushed the adoption of large capacity, alternate fuel, high energy efficiency, environment emission control and automation features in Asphalt plants. What is your contribution towards this initiative?

As we all know, green initiatives around the world, including India has pushed the adoption of large capacity as well as automate fuel. Hence, Alltech Group is looking forward to it and has already introduced provisions to add LDO/FO in the burner which will save fuel cost for running asphalt plant. We have already manufactured and supplied large capacity asphalt plants of 200 TPH and 240 TPH, which are the future of asphalt plants in India. Our asphalt plants are highly automated which help the operators to run asphalt plants with ease and less maintenance.

What is the present scenario of using recycled aggregates and asphalt for road construction? What needs to be done to promote its use in order to preserve virgin resources?

As per the current scenario, recycled aggregates have been started using in asphalt plants. Moreover, it is mandatory in some states of India like Haryana. So, as we envision about the future technologies to cater the needs of road contractors in India, we provide system to add up to 30% reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) directly into the mixer. We have also designed provision to add a total of 50% RAP (including aggregates and asphalt) to the asphalt plant. So, Alltech Group always innovates product ahead of its time keeping in mind what the future requires.

What role does sensor technologies play in effective functioning of asphalt plants?  Do you offer customised control systems to cater to varied requirements of asphalt plants?

We believe sensor technologies do play a vital role in effective functioning of asphalt plants as any other road construction equipment. Alltech Group offers a wide range of customised control system to cater to varied requirement of asphalt plants. We even provide imported sensors in our asphalt plants to achieve maximum accuracy. We have also introduced our new machine, “UNISURFACE 8000 “ which is a micro surfacing paver and it helps in treatment of goods. It has been fully equipped with sensor technologies and is a very futuristic product according to Indian market.

What are the challenges and potential in the asphalt production space?

As per our vision, asphalt production has a very huge potential since there are many asphalt road projects which are under construction and some are in tendering stage. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari’s dream project of Delhi-Mumbai Expressway is under construction and we are already catering road construction companies who are working in this great project with our enormous products and asphalt plants of capacity 200 TPH and 240 TPH. The asphalt plants are equipped with all the new technologies which include RAP addition and fibre dosing system. We are looking forward to associate with the Delhi- Katra Express Way and other large expressways.
