With Volvo Reman machine owners can get a remanufactured part that offers the same build quality as a new component, yet at a lower price and with a full Volvo warranty.

Modern fleet management for equipment owners must consider a myriad of factors, and increasingly companies should be looking at the possibility of using remanufactured parts in their machines. In today’s fast-paced business environment, equipment users need to embrace new ways of
thinking and consider a variety of options when looking to maximize the efficiency of their operations. For this reason, it pays dividends to
give serious consideration to the use
of remanufactured parts, and particularly when using Volvo Reman, the dedicated service provided by
Volvo Construction Equipment.

Among Indian customers there may still be a perception that purchasing a remanufactured component is in some way inferior to using a new part – or even a new machine. But the reality of course is much different. The issue is not simply about good or bad, but rather an assessment that should consider a number of issues including return on investment, machine workload, projected business and more.

“In India, our company offers a comprehensive suite of Volvo Reman services which are particularly popular on components such as pumps, motors and engines. All Volvo CE dealers in India have full details of the remanufacturing service, so for equipment owners, advice is just a phone call away. Customers can take added confidence from the service too, because all remanufactured components benefit from Volvo’s trademark testing and quality assurance, not to mention an extended warranty, which means they are often as good as new. On top of this, utilizing Volvo Reman offers environmental benefits, as worn parts are brought back to life, rather than being simply discarded and replaced,” stated Dimitrov Krishnan, Vice President and Head, Volvo CE India.

With Volvo CE remanufacturing is about much more than a conventional rebuild because the company includes all the latest upgrades and technical modifications as a standard part of the process. This means that the component customers receive back from Volvo Reman is invariably better than the one it is replacing. It is also rigorously tested and checked to ensure a perfect fit and long-lasting performance. So when considering the service, it really only makes sense to consider remanufacturing against the price of a new genuine Volvo part rather than against a simple repair or rebuild.

In essence, a factory remanufactured component from Volvo gives the owner the same performance, service life and warranty as a new Volvo component, only at a lower cost. To deliver assured performance, each component is put through a comprehensive five-step program.
The 5 Step Program
Disassembly: Each component is completely dismantled and thoroughly inspected.
Cleaning: The component is cleaned using advanced equipment and processes.
Inspection and replacement of worn parts: A qualified technician measures and analyzes the parts. All parts that are damaged or don’t conform to Volvo wear tolerances are replaced with genuine company parts.
Assembly and testing: The component is re-assembled and put through its own test protocol to ensure it meets Volvo’s stringent quality standards.
Painting: The component is painted to ensure it has the same protective finish as a new component in addition to the same performance.

By choosing Volvo Reman, fleet owners can keep their machines running for a longer time while simultaneously reducing owning and operating costs. After all, the better the quality of its components, the stronger performance a machine can deliver. And because each and every part is vital for
uptime, why even take the risk in the first place?
