Please provide a brief overview of your company and its history in manufacturing equipment attachments.
Kaup India is a wholly owned subsidiary of Kaup GmbH & Co KG which is a 62-year-old German company based out of Aschaffenburg in the Bavarian region. Kaup was founded by Mr. Otmar Kaup, whose 95th birthday we celebrated this year. From the humble beginning of being a family of blacksmiths, Kaup has come a long way and now offers highly engineered attachments for a wide range of applications.
What types of equipment attachments do you manufacture? Can you describe the different models or variations of each attachment type you offer?
Kaup manufactures attachments mainly for Forklifts and Reach trucks. We also manufacture few attachments for construction equipment and container spreaders. These attachments are designed to perform functions which complement the forklift which lends the term “helping hands for your forklift” for Kaup attachments. The major functions which our attachments perform is clamping, pushing, rotating, side-shifting, fork positioning and telescoping. The major attachments that we offer in the Indian market include paper roll clamp, carton & appliance clamps, telescopic forks, multi-pallet handlers, bale clamps, rotators, push-pull, fork positioner, tyre handlers, side-shifters.
What materials are commonly used in the construction of your attachments, and can you provide information about their durability and performance characteristics?
Kaup attachments are made of steel of various grades depending upon its application and environment in which the attachments have to work. In addition to the German standard of engineering Kaup attachments are known globally for its durability and trouble-free operation. We work with safety parameters which match the best in the industry and even the welding technology that we employ is amongst the best.
Do you offer customized attachment solutions to meet specific client requirements?
Kaup is popular specially for customising solution to suit special application whenever required. A glaring example of this are our stationery range of equipment which are designed to handle complex handling needs like load inversion, pallet retention, layer picking, conveyor integration and similar such requirements. We also offer attachments with a combination of functions such as clamping, rotating and side-shifting function in one attachment or telescoping and fork positioning combined in one attachment. This required a thorough study of load to be handled and the application desired which our highly skilled team is trained to handle.
How do you ensure that your attachments are compatible with a wide range of equipment brands and models?
Kaup attachments are versatile and can be easily compatible with any equipment brands and models. We supply our attachments to all known brands of forklifts worldwide.
What warranty and after-sales support options do you offer with your attachments?
Kaup is reputed for its unmatched customer support. Kaup employs a highly skilled customer centric service team who are trained extensively in our factories abroad on real life situations.
Are there any upcoming products or developments in your company that customers should be aware of?
Kaup is now engaged in development and marketing of new age products such as attachments for autonomous material handling equipment. Considering our commitment to environment, we have also forayed into electrical attachments for few of our models. Another example of our futuristic thinking is the introduction of SLC (Smart Load Control) which calibrates the clamping pressure for any clamping attachments by calculating the volume and weight using sensors while clamping the load. This not only leads to reduction in damages but also ensures safe working environment.
How do you plan to stay competitive in the equipment attachment industry in the future?
Kaup India will soon begin assembly of attachments in India at our Nasik factory which will commence early next year. This will not only help us stay competitive in the market but will also allow flexibility to offer solutions especially suited for Indian market. Apart from this, our flexibility to offer customised solutions keeps us ahead in the market.
Is there any additional information you’d like to share about your company, products, or services?
Kaup India maintains adequate stocks of fast-moving attachments which reduces the lead time for our customer. We also stock all critical spares to ensure that the down time, if any, is minimised to a large extent. We regularly conduct product and service training for our stakeholders which helps them in understanding the end user needs better and offer them solutions which are the best in the industry.
