How Propel views gender diversity
Gender diversity in the construction equipment industry has been historically low, but that is gradually changing now. For the better. At Propel, we have been proud to see more and more women joining our team in recent years, making the work space more diverse and inclusive.
Safety and support for women at Propel
We understand that women face a unique set of challenges in the workplace, which is why we have implemented several policies and practices to ensure their safety and well-being, to help support them. For example, we a fixed ‘end-of-shift’ timing and flexible hours of work. In addition, we have transportation facility that drops women employees off at their homes. If overtime is necessary, we only accept it in urgent situations; we provide a shuttle for women to ensure they can get back home safely.

To provide them further support, we have established a Women’s Committee that addresses gender-specific issues and concerns. The committee works towards ensuring a healthy work-life balance, providing equal opportunities for career growth and advocating for Zero tolerance towards harassment.
Roles of women working at Propel and their importance
Women at Propel are widespread and present in almost all departments, including finance, accounts, business and marketing. At the shop floor level, women are in research and development, equipment designing, stocks management and spares. They span from security to senior officer levels of our company. We are proud to have women in leadership positions and we believe that their accomplishments and suggestions have been an integral part to our success.
How their skills are improved, leading to better performance
We believe in providing equal opportunities for all our employees and conduct training and workshops to up skill them. Apart from a recent training provided to all employees on emotional intelligence, we invite expert guest speakers to impart their knowledge on technical and soft skills, communication, first-aid, stress management and many more. This not only gives their skills an edge, hence maintaining an atmosphere of healthy competition but also helps build network and trust, allowing for a more optimal communication.
