How do you assess the recent trends in the manufacturing sector? 

With growing awareness of Industry 4.0 with manufacturers, OEMs and end users, it is not a question of ‘if’ but how ‘fast’ the industry adapts to IOT based remote monitoring solutions. Monitoring high value heavy machinery in real time, performing data analytics to provide valuable information and making decisions using artificial intelligence would unlock enormous value to enterprise investing in high value heavy machinery.

Using embedded sensors and other resources, the possibilities are endless for construction equipment functionality. What is your take on this?

Yes, Industry 4.0 / IOT / Remote monitoring requires marriage of different domains of technologies from industry domain knowledge, sensors, wireless technologies, software, cloud solution, data analytics and artificial intelligence.

IOT based remote monitoring solutions are set to provide OEM / Tiers real time valuable information on how the products are used in real life. This will provide paradigm shift in the development of products with insights into actual usage of products. VerveTronics remote monitoring platform built with this technology has multiple applications in CE space; for e.g., monitoring CE franchises locations across multiple geographies to help improve energy, product quality delivered, reduce theft etc.

 

How do you assess the existing specs and standards of safety especially material handling and material lifting applications? 

The European and US safety standards are state of art, quite mature and updated at regular intervals. Adaptation of same by Indian industry is gathering momentum as customers start value human safety, downtime, legal costs and reputation. However, it needs making stakeholders further aware of the benefits.

 

How do you assess the response from the OEMs and end user segments as well in successfully imbibing digital platforms?

Acceptance and appreciation of the value delivered to enterprise offered by digital remote monitoring platforms is increasing. Availability of solution solving real customer problems implemented with integrated technologies guaranteeing seamless integration is a major hindrance in transition towards digital platforms
