What is the primary focus of Gujarat Conex for your production and display?

At this exhibition, our main focus is to showcase our current product lineup, which includes compactors and our brand-new milling machine, the W155. Additionally, we’re unveiling the next generation of Dash 5 pavers.

Can you tell us about the technological advancements incorporated into these machines?

Certainly, the paver we’re showcasing here represents the fifth generation of this product. It’s packed with numerous innovations and cutting-edge technologies that we’re excited to introduce.  VÖGELE has made user requirements a key focus of development, resulting in further optimisation of the ErgoPlus operating concept which, with its touchscreen and smartphone shelf, delivers even greater convenience for digital road construction. The new Paver Access Control (PAC) function enables Dash 5-generation pavers to be equipped for work on the job site more quickly, more conveniently and more safely.

How do you perceive the market for your products in Gujarat?

Gujarat has consistently been a stable and significant market for Wirtgen. We’ve established a strong presence here over the years.

Are there any specific challenges you face in the western side of the market?

No, I don’t see any exceptional challenges in the western market when compared to the rest of India. It’s a fairly consistent landscape for us.

With next year’s elections approaching, how do you anticipate the impact on your products?

We anticipate that more contracts will be awarded prior to the elections. There may be a temporary slowdown in business for one quarter during the election period, but we expect things to return to normal afterwards.

Is there any additional information you’d like to share?

I would like to highlight that 2023 has been an exceptional year for us. It stands as one of the most successful years in the history of Wirtgen Group in India, both in terms of the domestic market and exports.

What are your initial impressions regarding the footfall at the exhibition?

I would describe the footfall as average. In the second half of the event, it appears to be somewhat quieter with fewer attendees. Overall, it’s been a moderate turnout.
