What is the current market size (demand – supply scenario) for compaction equipment?

Smart city initiatives are creating demand for compactors and asphalt pavers owing to the accelerated spending by means of governments for excessive better roads and highways for rapid movement of products and passengers even from remote places to all essential cities all around the world. Increased road construction projects are increasing the demand of asphalt pavers and compactors. Accordingly, we try to fulfill the need of our customers.

How do you assess the growth potential of compaction equipment in India?

The Union budget 2022 came with four priorities and ‘PM GatiShakti’ featured as one of the key priorities of the central government. This initiative puts greater focus on all transport infrastructure improvement with a master plan to build world class infrastructure. We, at Dynapac, with its global portfolio of products in India are well prepared to support this initiative. This plan wants to build national highways and expressways that will propel greater requirement for quality equipment with world class service. We, at Fayat Road Equipment, are already playing an important role with our Dynapac Asphalt Rollers and Pavers for development of highways and also offer asphalt plants from Marini – a Fayat group company in India. We also see the government’s commitment towards technology to deliver more energy efficient solution, where we also see our Group’s initiatives to create development in this area.

What are the unique features in your range of compaction equipment in terms of technology?

At the current scenario, it is the demand of time that we need innovations for speedy and quality road construction. Dynapac has inherited culture of continuous improvement and innovation for superior performance and reliability. Our equipment is designed to perform and built to last in terms of low cost of ownership, quality results, high productivity, jobsite confidence and excellent serviceability. In compactors, we have optimized eccentricity for better fuel efficiency and economy. Dynapac was the first to introduce the efficient eccentrics system to the market in 2016. Dynapac equipment is equipped with high degree of intelligent compaction system.

What are the key maintenance practices to be followed for the upkeep of compaction equipment?

People visit to our sites for regular service where we brief them about the maintenance also. We also have the Dynalink in our pavers which provides us lot of information about the condition of equipment. All SD range of pavers is equipped with Dyn@link advance (telematic system) for optimization of paving parameters as well as timely maintenance. Dyn@link also enables fuel consumption track record, service alerts, geofencing, engine parameters, etc. that will save money as well as offer high machine uptime. We also have DMS portal to fetch information about equipment maintenance alerts. 

What kind of after-sales services and solution has been offered by you in terms of quality of products as well as to add brand value?

Dynapac aftermarket focuses to achieve highest uptime for all the pavers and compactors through our wide range of dealer network across India. We also have central warehouse located at Pune to support India and nearby countries.

What are the challenges and possible new avenues in the compaction equipment segment? 

Industry is driving for bringing innovation in technology that can reduce construction time and cost. With a wide range of product portfolio as well as our global presence, we are trying to bring new solutions to our customers to meet this need. This has been demonstrated in our product introductions in last two years from our Pune plant. Changing for better is in Dynapac’s DNA. Since last eight decades, Dynapac has always been at the forefront of sensing the environmental, technological and developmental changes. And, we are also the first to fully operationalize these changes in our widest range of products and other offerings.
