How do you see the growth prospects of the concrete equipment industry given the backdrop of rising construction and infrastructure activities especially after the Covid pandemic-influenced period?

Concrete Equipment market continues to grow even during the pandemic and post-covid, barring the fact that the manpower, especially the migrant workforce had become scarce for production, transportation and placement of concrete. This scarcity has created a movement towards concrete equipment with more mechanisation and automation, which has created newer demand and is helping the concrete equipment manufacturing industry.

Regarding the emerging trends in the field, Boom Pumps are finding space in the RMC sector like never before due to its one-man operation, thereby deleting excess manpower.

Due to the increased demand for the ready mix concrete due to huge influx of projects awarded by the government, clients are opting for higher output Batching Plants, Pumps and Mixers rather than the smaller capacity equipment.

What are the emerging technological innovations offered by your company in your range of machines?

Schwing Stetter has pioneered many game changing technologies and to name a few – IOT enabled Concrete Pump, Mixers and Loaders – makes life easier on the Logistics monitoring of the fleet management. Innovative technology like easy mode in Boom Pumps and single side pumping of concrete are some of the unique features of Schwing products.

The spirals in the Stetter Concrete Mixer are technologically designed to give better homogeneity mix and higher strength mix. This saves cement on the client’s side. There is savings due to lesser fuel consumption across all the equipment due to open loop hydraulic system and optimized prime movers. The Batching Plants are designed for faster erection and are easy to maintain. Our in-house automation helps us meet the requirement of the customers in terms of CRM and IOT and have tailor-made solutions for customer need.

With the industry witnessing introduction of new technologies and products, it is important for the operation and maintenance personnel to be well aware of the new development. What are the training imperatives undertaken by you for the operators of your equipment?

Schwing Stetter has been always focusing on upskilling the work force in the client side. We have so far developed close to 9000 operators for our Batching Plants, Boom Pumps and other equipment while all them are employed with prestigious construction companies.

What are the after-sales support initiatives adopted by you in sustaining the customer satisfaction levels?

Schwing Stetter has always been associated with its after-sales support excellence, be it Service, Spares or Training requirement. With close to 26 branches pan-India and 12 service centers and as many spare’s depots, Schwing Stetter provides direct and immediate service to its customers. The service centers provide overhauling / refurbishment of equipment with limited warranty. Scheduled health check up of all RMC plants and audit of operators periodically, have garnered huge appreciation from the clients. Apart from this, resident engineers take care of clustered equipment in remote areas.

What are your plans to expand your portfolio in the concrete equipment space in terms of investment and location in the next 2-3 years?

Schwing Stetter, after foreseeing the increasing demand in the CE industry, has had the foresight to inaugurate our global manufacturing hub in Cheyyar Tamil Nadu in the year 2020 amid the pandemic. Now fully functional, this 55 acre facility will not only cater to the domestic requirement but also to the international market.

With its R&D center in place, Schwing Stetter will be unveiling a slew of newer technology equipment with higher capacities in the Boom Pumps, Batching Plants and will be unveiled during the upcoming expos.
