With the second wave of Covid-19 still looming over, what is the current market size (demand-supply scenario) of wheel loaders in terms of value and unit sales?
The market had shown growth from 2020 Q4 onwards and the same momentum continued till March 2021. April and May were hit badly in 2021 due to the 2nd wave, but from June onwards there is a solid bounce back. Last year in 2020, Wheel Loader Industry had touched an approximate of 2500 units whereas till June this year the TIV has already crossed 1800 units. H2 is going to be really very good in terms of numbers.
Tell us about the unique features of your current range of wheel loaders?
We at Schwing Stetter offer wide range of Wheel Loaders i.e we have 2 Ton, 3 Ton and 5 Ton to cover 99% of the market and customer needs. Our complete range is loaded with latest technology features like Electronics Engines, IOT, Rear View Cameras. Our wheel loader range is powered by Weichai Electronically Controlled Engine which ensures lowest fuel consumption and highest efficiency with lowest maintenance cost, whereas our competitors are still using mechanical engine.
How have you been able to leverage the advantages of disruptive technologies in designing the cab with a specific focus on safety and operator comfort?
Our operator cabins are designed not only to give maximum comfort to the operators but it also gives complete peace of mind while doing the job. Our cabin comes with luxuries operator seat, ergonomically designed pilot lever, wide glasses to get 360 degrees visibility and most importantly our loaders have HVAC feature. We strongly believe that if operator is happy and safe, customer gets the highest productivity.
What kind of after-sales services and solutions has been offered by you in terms of quality of the products as well as to add brand value?
We offer different types of after-market packages. Also, we are very flexible to customize our after-market packages to meet various customers’ needs. We firmly believe that, after-market plays a key role in repeat sale. We offer Standard Package, 2/3 year AMC / FMC to our customers. We always strive really hard to give our customers best after-market support. We have our spares godowns & service centres spread across the length & width of India.
What do you think are the challenges and possible new avenues in the wheel loader segment?
In coming months, emission norms are going to change from BSIII to BSIV. This transition is a challenge for all the stake holders in terms of adapting to new habits of maintenance, operation, clean fuel etc. Such practices end users need to follow religiously as it is very good for environment and it will increase the overall efficiency of the product too.
As far as the new avenues are concerned, our government is already pushing infrastructure projects like new metro lines, high speed rail project and various airports and bridges are being planned. All this will surely boost the economy and we can see its direct impact on CE Industry/ Wheel Loader industry’s growth.
