The concept of ‘Make in India’ for the world seems to have caught up with most of the OEMs. What is your take on this? Indian CE industry taken as whole what is the current growth and expected CAGR in export?

We are the only company in India to manufacture the complete series of Geared Motors in-house. The others majorly source parts from other countries, then assemble it here and sell. From raw material to finishing, the entire process is undertaken and manufactured in our in-house facility. We can proudly say that the products made by RadiconPowerbuild are 100% Made-in India products with the global standard. Our wide network of Sales & Service team in fourteen locations helps us to keep up with our motto, ‘sales services within 48 hours’.

Brief us on the scope and potential for export of your range of products?

As far as exports are concerned, we see a lot of potential and scope in various countries, especially South-east Asia, African countries and other part of the globe. We have been exporting to various countries on a moderate level. These are standard and customized products produced for the Indian market, which are being promoted in the global market.     

We cater to specific requirements like CE marking, NEMA motor suitable gear boxes and various power supply voltages catering to the demands of various countries. Powerbuild has produced special products focusing on the industries segment and special requirement for specific countries. For example, we developed a new planetary box for the wood industry for the US market. Additionally, we have washable SS product for F&B and pharmaceutical industry. 

Could you brief us on the roadmap and strategies initiated to become a successful player in the global markets? 

Our strategy is very simple. We concentrate on modernization and adoption of newer technologies to decrease costs and improve quality. If we keep our promises with our customers, they will patronize us to give us sustained business. Using flexible mindset, cutting- edge technology, smart procurement, upgraded technology, process time saving, we follow all the quality pillar of TPM (Total productive maintenance system). Recently we have been honoured the TPM Excellence Award by JIPM, JAPAN. These factors aid us to flourish continuously in the global market.  

Which are the major markets that you focus on and what are the factors contributing to it? Are there separate investment / R&D efforts for this?  Could you brief us on the same?

We concentrate on all the core sectors like Construction, Sugar, Steel& Metal, Plastics, Rubber, Food, Packaging etc. Robust performance, suitable for extreme environment condition, lowest cost of ownership, and technology-driven products, forever changing customers’ need are the major factors that help us serve customers efficiently.           

Equipped with advanced manufacturing & testing facilities, Powerbuild is extremely focused on customer needs and application engineering with customized solution. Our future plans include expansion and modernization in the same field. We are in the process of acquiring and building new machines for this purpose. Currently, our In-house R&D & application team is focused on seamless launching of new products based on technological developments.             

Do you have a separate product range for the global market?

RadiconPowerbuild believes to offer “single premium quality for all” that is global level quality product for both domestic and global market. We never differentiate between domestic and global business in terms of products’ qualities.

As the global markets are highly competitive, especially in terms of quality of the product and backup support, how have you ensured the same to cut a niche in those markets?

In a world of increasing global competition, the basis has shifted more and more to the creation, assimilation of knowledge, quality of products and backup support. What do you think are the major challenges you face in the global markets and how do you address these challenges?

We believe a healthy competition is always good for both buyer and seller in the market space. Although there is traffic and leads available at global level for product demand, it gives us an opportunity to showcase ourselves and see the possibilities to outclass other in terms of cost, technology, process or the people. We are a self-sufficient organization in terms of power transmission products. Be it standard or bespoke solutions, RADICON POWERBUILD has delivered world class, robust and reliable products for the Power Transmission industry. We always act cautiously, identifying the right technologies for the global customer needs.      

With an experience of more than 40 years, RADICON POWERBUILD is a name that personifies RELIABILITY and VALUE. We have a global presence in terms of manufacturing and assembly facilities in various countries such as UK, Thailand, Singapore, USA, Dubai and Netherland.               

Currently, what is the volume / percentage of business from exports and what is the growth you are targeting or expected?

We expand our export portfolio to serve adjacent industry and export directly to neighboring countries such as Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Nepal. Additionally, we export to our subsidiaries company situated in Dubai, Thailand, UK, Netherlands, USA and Singapore. Our last year export business share was just over 11% and for FY19-20, we are expecting around 12% by the end of this financial year. Looking forward towards the rising opportunities in the global market, we are planning to ameliorate our pursuit for export aggressively. We are expecting 15% of business from exports in FY20-21. 

How do you assess the impact of the Budget 2020 on the CE industry?  Also tell us on the outlook especially the product range that you deal with?

As we all know that in Budget (2020-21), our government proposed that 100 more airports will be developed by 2025 to support the UDAN scheme and 1.7 lakh crore has been provided for transport infrastructure to accelerate highway construction. Also, 150 trains will run under the public private partnership mode. These proposals will certainly boost the construction equipment industry, benefiting equipment manufacturers and component manufacturers.
