Do you rate your company’s journey so far and what do you think are the major factors contributing to your success saga in the construction equipment industry?

Schwing Stetter India has been the pioneer of Concreting equipment in the country and thereby revolutionizing the construction scenario, totally shifting from manual mode to mechanized mode through many of our products such as Batching Plants, Concrete pumps, and Truck mixer for producing, transporting and pumping concrete with the least of manual intervention. Today, Schwing Stetter with the entire range of CE such as Excavators, Wheel loader, Motor Graders, Piling Rigs, Mobile Cranes, HDD etc., in its portfolio . It is the only company to provide complete concrete and construction equipment solution in the country.

The major factors for Schwing Stetter to be in the present position is the product reliability and the premium life of the products. Another major factor is the after sales support. It is the only company having full fledged branches for sales, service, spares and training pan India.

What has been the shift in buying patterns from the end-user segment?

In the Batching Plant segment, the RMC player earlier used to procure small capacity plants such as 30 Cu.M which are now procuring higher capacity plants such as 60 and 120 cu.m capacities. Similarly, the traditional stationary pumps are being replaced by higher reach Boom Pumps by the road construction companies. In the earthmoving segment, nowadays, along with 20 ton class excavators, 30 ton and above are also finding huge space.

Tell us about the technological trends in your range of products?

Schwing Stetter India’s In-House R&D department has made major strides in bringing the latest in technology and advancement for better product performance.

To name a few of them: In the SLM product front, the productivity has gone up 10% and the fuel consumption has gone down by 15% with an overall performance of 25 % by doing an extensive R&D re-engineering; In the same SLM equipment, for operator easiness and reduced operator fatigue we have introduced soft controls for all joy sticks; Our Stationary and boom pumps performance have been upgraded with the introduction of Twin hydraulic circuits, which reduces the pulsation; In our 10 Cubic. Meter truck Mixer we have re-designed the drum configuration to increase the water line volume by additional 1 cubic. Meter leading to higher loading capacity.

What differentiates your company from other competitive players in the construction equipment space?  

It is the only company providing complete range of Concreting and Construction Equipment and solutions for wide range of construction activities. The product reliability and quality are the main markers for its wide acceptance among its customers. There equipment which have being commissioned twenty years back still functioning perfectly. Next is our network of sales and after-sales support. Schwing Stetter India has 28 branches pan India, 12 service centers, 11 spares depot and 3 training centers. Our digital marketing team continues to engage with the customers for understanding their imminent needs and fulfill it. For example, we have launched our E-commerce portal for procurement of spares online by the customer thereby eliminating the hassle of physical intervention.

What products are being showcased / launched at Excon and what will be your focus of display? 

Schwing Stetter India will be showcasing its latest launches in the ensuing Excon 2021 such as Boom Pumps and Batching Plant (Dry Mortar Plant) in the concreting segment, Excavators for mining segment and newer version of HDD for trenchless underground cutting equipment. We will also be launching new products in the road construction segment in the EXPO.

We will be displaying close to 50 products in the Excon of which at least 6 new launch ceremony will happen at the venue.

In the technology front, we will be introducing equipment embedded with IOT, telematics and improved hydraulics in almost all range of equipment, which will considerably improve performance, productivity and reduced labour involvement.

While Schwing Stetter itself is a brand, we will focus more on customer engagement and provide unparalleled experience on the product display and demonstration and the highlight will be on the manufacturing facilities of Schwing Stetter India. The recently held ‘Technovation 22’ Techfest at our Global Manufacturing hub in Tamil Nadu was successful in promoting Schwing Brand and its products , which will be replicated in the Excon 2021.

What motivates you to participate at this Expo?

Excon has always been the platform for us to showcase our latest products and do demo for customer experience. It also gives us a way to interact with our existing customers and find out their needs at different platform altogether. We also encounter many new customers who are bought into our fold by displaying our facility and product range.

What are your expectations from Excon, especially after a period of lull due to Covid 19 pandemic?

Excon 2021 will be one of first Expo to happen on an international scale globally. Schwing Stetter India with the prescribed Covid protocol in place, recently hosted ‘Technovation 22’ at our Global Manufacturing Hub. It was great success with various customer engagement activities along with latest product Expo inside the premises. In continuation to that, we are eagerly waiting for Excon 2021 to showcase the latest in technology and use the platform to launch our latest innovations in the concreting & CE range.

What is your insight on your company’s road map for next three years?

We expect the growth for India on two levers, one high demand due to the Infrastructure development in line with the NIP & second, high potential in the export market. As the construction equipment industry in India is poised for a tremendous growth, with a vision plan to be the second largest construction and concrete equipment in the world, Schwing Stetter India is aptly prepared and engaged to cater to this cause. The Global Manufacturing Hub will be a global supplier for concreting and construction equipment.
