How do you look at India as a potential market for trenchless technologies?
In the ‘Trenchless Technology’ sector, Indian market has evolved immensely, with progressive growth, with a potential toexpandexponentially with huge projections for project execution in telecom sector. Also, there is immense opportunityfor trenchless technologies to be deployed in projects pre dominantly in,OFC laying , Sewage systems, CGD, LPG & Crude Oil projects.
How are trenchless methods of construction technologies evolving in India? Which segments drive the demand for trenchless equipment the most?
In the coming days, ‘Trenchless technologies’ method of executing underground jobs will be the norm of the day due to the complexities involved in Underground Routing, considering the Indian Geological conditions and the brimming society expansion which does not allow the over the ground trench cutting especially in metros where crossing of City, Road, River, Canal, Railway crossing and farms.
Trench less Technologies for underground drilling is the most effective, efficient and reduces the manpower to a large extent without disturbing the above the ground environment to a large extent. Trenchless Method has a huge prospect in Optic Fibre calle laying, Inter-city and cross country gas pipelines.
What are the products and solutions offered by your company in trenchless methods?
Schwing-XCMG provides a complete range of Horizontal Directional Drilling Rig (HDD) from a range of 20Ton to 1360Ton pulling capacity. All the HDD machines comes all necessary tool-sets for customized application (Drilling, Reaming & Pulling). Apart from this, we are also providing complete solution of Underground Tracking products, Bentonite recycling and Mixing units through our vendor to meet the customer’s requirement as a package of one point solution.
What are your after-sales initiatives for your customers?
Schwing-XCMG has always been providing the best in class in after-sales support to our customers. The approach is to provide fully-committed service, spares and maintenance at site. As an OEM, the after-sales support system is supported by various departments, guided by responsible verticals. The after-sales support team comprises of 350 plus service engineers, 28 spares outlets, 9 service centers across the country. We also conduct training programs for operators and customers at site, and also provide simulator based training at our Global manufacturing hub at Tamil nadu near Chennai.
For Trenchless Technology, Schwing-XCMG also extends unique support in application guidelines, methodology and selection of tools, social media network for knowledge sharing, webinar program for technological awareness through online platform etc.
Could you elaborate on the presence of your company in India? What are the expansion plans?
Schwing-XCMG started HDD business in India in 2017 with mini HDD segment (20Ton and 32Ton), and presently we have expanded our product portfolio to midi and maxi range by supplying 96 ton 660Ton HDD Rigs in India.
Recently, we had hosted a Expo event named Technovation fest-22, held in February 2022 at our (Global Manufacturing Hub) of Schwing – XCMG near Chennai. In the event, we have announced the production of HDD in India very soon. We are initially starting with mini HDD segment and planning to start from June 2022. Apart from this, we are also planning to start production of in-house bentonite mud pump and accessories.
How do you look at the challenges / future growth trend / road map of trenchless technology in India?
Initially, we had challenges in the infra-market and with global supply chain disruption, technical awareness etc., of end users. Presently, we have won most of the challenges and we successfully established ourselves as leading supplier 0 of Trenchless technology equipment in the Indian Market.
Our focus for sustained growth of this segment in the Indian market is to focus on dedicated service and provide an analyzed, optimized and customized solutions as per the productivity requirement. Delivery of advanced and user friendly technologies for a balanced economic progress will be the priority
With the growing trend of technologies in India, unquestionably Trenchless Technology will play a vital role for all-round development. We are planning to keep upgrading in all possible fields to adopt advanced technologies and continuous expansion in after-sales, Stock points and provide all around project support.
We are also rolling out e-commerce platform for online spares quote and Skill-India tie-ups for operator training. Trenchless technology is undoubtedly will unfold the mass opportunities in Indian Market.
