What was your focus in this inaugural edition of Gujarat Conex?

We would like to begin by expressing my heartfelt gratitude to the entire Gujarat Conex team for orchestrating this exceptional event. We are truly honored to be part of this gathering, and we couldn’t be more pleased with the remarkable turnout we witnessed yesterday. It’s abundantly clear that this event has attracted a host of genuinely interested and committed buyers. This is indeed a momentous occasion for Gujarat, as we have never before witnessed such a grand-scale event in our region. We extend our sincere appreciation to Conex for making this possible.

Over the past day, we have observed a distinct trend: only serious and authentic customers have graced this event with their presence. There has been a conspicuous absence of aimless window-shoppers, reaffirming the quality of attendees and their genuine interest in what we have to offer.

How do you look at Gujarat or the western India market?

From the very beginning of Liugong’s journey, we have been extremely committed to the Gujarat market. Our roots trace back to our early days when we primarily operated from Kandla Port. During that period, we had a significant workforce of around 200 reloaders dedicated to handling logs. Since our inception, the Gujarat market has been a top priority for us. Today, we have forged strong relationships with road contractors in Gujarat. Our current focus in Gujarat revolves around collaborating with road contractors and equipment hirers, demonstrating our unwavering commitment to this region.

What are your products on display?

Liugong has earned a strong reputation for its line of loaders. This time, we proudly introduce the very first electric vehicle (EV) loader, showcased right here. Thanks to the support of our valued customers, we received a purchase order right off the bat, and the unit is already sold. At present, our primary focus in the Gujarat market revolves around road equipment, including graders, compactors, milling machines, excavators, and loaders.

Any technological advancements you have made in your products?

India’s inaugural EV loader, unveiled on 1st February in Delhi with the presence of Minister Nitin Gadkari, marks a significant leap towards the future of sustainable transportation. This cutting-edge equipment represents the next generation of solutions, catering to the burgeoning demand for electric vehicle conversions and alternative fuels. Stay tuned as we introduce a range of other EV products in Liugong’s lineup, reaffirming our commitment to environmentally friendly products.

On the technological advancements, how do you look at sustainability in your products?

All the machines we are currently showcasing have undergone extensive testing at our headquarters for a period of 4-5 years prior to their launch in India. These machines have not only been rigorously tested but have also proven their technological reliability. Any initial issues or challenges have been effectively addressed, resulting in the availability of trouble-free equipment in India. We believe we have played a pioneering role in the EV loader sector in India. Our introduction of EV loaders at the bauma CONEXPO India event at the end of January was a significant milestone. We are committed to furthering our EV presence by integrating this technology into our other product offerings. We firmly believe that green energy is the future, and those who embrace it early will enjoy a unique first-mover advantage.

What will be your market share in terms of exports?

As of the present moment, our focus in terms of exports is primarily on SAARC countries. However, it’s important to note that the current circumstances in our neighboring nations are less favorable. We are currently experiencing a decline in export activity. In the past, these neighboring countries constituted a thriving market for us, with us holding the top position in Bangladesh. Nevertheless, due to the ongoing challenges in our neighboring countries, our market presence in these regions has decreased.
