What are the current trends in the mining equipment market that you believe are shaping the industry?

The current and future of mining equipment is expected to include, the below developments. However, lot more AI based and electric/ robotic based equipment will be seen soon, beside these developments in coming future.

Eco-friendly solutions: Electric and hybrid vehicles, solar-powered drills, and equipment with reduced emissions are becoming more common.

Digitalization: Digital mining technologies will help increase productivity, reliability, and reduce costs.

Automation: Automation and teleoperation systems can monitor machines, control operations, and enhance safety and productivity.

Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) sensors: These sensors can measure, record, and transmit data from mining assets to management systems.

Real-Time Location Systems (RTLS): These systems can improve the efficiency of autonomous vehicles and drones by enhancing navigation precision and minimizing the risk of collisions.

Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI: These technologies can synthesize large amounts of data to generate insights and predictive models.

Some other examples of future mining equipment include:

Drilling robots: These robots can drill holes for blasting or exploration in areas that are too dangerous or difficult for humans to reach.

Battery electric underground loaders: These loaders can be operated remotely from the surface, keeping operators out of harm's way.

*AI, as a technology base shall completely change the we conduct mining today.

*Electric based equipment will be mandatorily used to ensure environmental protection.

Groz is well aware about these changes and is already, onto its R&D efforts, to the timely introduction of all such smart equipments so as to stand as a leading company towards, offering of new technologically advanced solution to mining industry!

What are the major challenges and opportunities in mining equipment space?

Core challengesEnvironmental protection, miners health and optimise implementation of smart mining solution so as to maximise usage of our natural resources for overall growth and sustainability of countrys economy and at large, wellbeing of Human race!

The mining industry contributes around 2.1–2.5% to India's GDP. However, the mining industry's contribution to the total industrial sector's GDP is around 10–11%.

The mining industry can create an additional 25 million jobs by 2047

For every 1% increase in the mining and quarrying sector, India's GDP increases by 0.3%.

However, there are wide scale unproductive methods, still in use and can dramatically improve our productivity if new technology is implemented.

I see immense potential here in India for company like Groz, which has worldwide exposure to upskill the Indian mining users in introducing latest trends in equipment and technological solution. Groz is working tirelessly towards that direction to uphold its leadership position as an equipment supplier, in Indian mining industry!
