What sustainable technologies and practices has your company implemented in your range of construction equipment?

Our commitment to sustainability flows from our Company’s purpose to help improve the lives of people around the world and to deliver results for our team members, customers and shareholders within the Terex Way values. In 2023, over half of the machines sold by Terex India were electric, significantly reducing emissions compared to traditional diesel-powered models. The team has also implemented a series of initiatives designed to minimise the environmental footprint of their operations, including reducing truck usage for material transportation to reduce fuel consumption and emissions and switching to energy-efficient LED lighting throughout the facility, further reducing their energy consumption. They have also taken steps to improve the efficiency of their diesel generators by introducing carbon reduction equipment. When combined, these measures contribute significantly to a more sustainable future for the construction industry.

How do you foresee the role of green technologies evolving in the construction equipment industry over the next decade? How does your company plan to continue innovating in the realm of sustainable construction equipment?

Green technologies are already revolutionizing the construction equipment industry, and this trend will only accelerate over the next decade. Stringent environmental regulations and a growing commitment to sustainability are driving this shift. Terex India is uniquely positioned to positively impact the environment through product innovation and environmental stewardship.

We are leading the way with our development of electric and hybrid equipment that reduces emissions and enhances energy efficiency. Digitalization will also play a crucial role, with smart technologies optimizing fuel consumption, reducing idle time, and enabling predictive maintenance. Our product offerings support recycling and the circular economy, turning waste into useful material, reducing reliance on raw materials, and reducing environmental pollution.

Customer collaboration and education are key in this transition. Terex provides comprehensive training and support to help our customers maximize the benefits of sustainable equipment. By continuing to innovate and foster collaboration, Terex is shaping a more sustainable and environmentally responsible construction landscape today and for the future.
