What has been your focus during Excon this year?
Innovation is one of the core values of Trelleborg Sealing Solutions and that’s the one focus for us. We are one of the frontrunners when it comes to adapting technology in the industry. The products that we showcased at Excon are either a part of our global success stories in the off-highway segment or a part of upcoming Indian launches. The digital Technology that we showcased in Excon like Virtual Reality, Mixed Reality and Augment Reality helps our customers to understand the product better and access our manufacturing facility remotely.
What are the products on display during Excon and what are the features of the products on display?
We showcased a range of product line at Excon 2022 including elastomer and plastic material. HiMod® Strut Bearing is one of our latest products, these are injection moulded and Precision Machine tubing, primarily used for dumper suspension applications. These bearings have a high load carrying capacity, reduce the equipment weight while maintaining load requirements, further resulting in energy and fuel savings.
Another innovative product that we are showcasing here is the Turcon® Roto L and Roto SG Seal. They are engineered to extend the lifetime of Central Tire Inflation Systems (CTIS) by lowering friction, also saving energy and fuel. This is achieved by sealing only when it is required during tire pressure adjustment. So, while the vehicle is moving, the tire pressure is optimized based on the demands of the load and the terrain. We foresee this product generating a strong interest and demand in India.
How do you look at the market scenario in India for your products launched / displayed at Excon?
We believe that a good product always creates a demand in the market. Especially when Indian market is also looking for efficiency improvement, like 1 equipment can perform multiple tasks or offer extended support. This is what our product offers. Our Products like MFS Nexus works in the toughest conditions, offering better efficiency, Himod® Strut Bearing offers weight saving advantages and Roto L and Roto SG Seals only when its needed, So overall we offer efficiency improvement and maintenance free lifetime for the equipment.
What are the investments made by you in terms of research and development (R&D) and manufacturing facilities?
Asia is one of the growth areas for Trelleborg and the right investments are made in the region to expand further. Recently, we have added new manufacturing unitat Vietnam in Asia while in India we have expanded our manufacturing facility for metal processing unit.
