What are your observations regarding the market and current trends in the wheel loader market?
The wheel loader market experienced a significant surge in sales, rising from just over 3000 units in 2022 to nearly 4000 units in 2023, reflecting a commendable growth rate of about 15% annually. This achievement stands out, considering the typical influence of external economic factors on equipment sales. The segment is projected to maintain sales volumes of 4,000 - 4,500 units annually over the next five years. Such fluctuations in sales numbers are common in capital equipment markets, subject to economic cycles and governmental policy shifts.
The dominance of the 3- and 5-Ton categories in the segment, constituting approximately 90% of total sales, underscores their crucial role in operations. Despite both categories being essential, there’s a clear preference for 3T models, with 67% of sales attributed to them, likely due to their versatility and suitability for a wide range of applications.
The primary sectors driving demand for wheel loaders are quarry and mining, consuming 80% of the output. These sectors prioritize reliability and heavy-duty capabilities in their equipment. Quarry operations account for 43% of loading and handling applications, while mining contributes 35% - 40%. Additionally, wheel loaders find utility in Roads & Construction (15%), Ports (10%), and Industry (2%), albeit to a lesser extent, for similar tasks.
What models of wheel loaders does your company manufacture?
HD Hyundai is proud to introduce a premier line of wheel loaders, the HL930I (3T) and HL950I (5T). Designed for superior performance and incomparable versatility, these models represent innovative solutions in the construction equipment industry. From tackling rugged quarry operations to facilitating seamless road construction, HD Hyundai wheel loaders stand ready to meet the diverse needs of modern businesses.
The HL930I (3T) wheel loader is renowned for its compact yet powerful design, making it ideal for maneuvering tight spaces while delivering exceptional performance. It is perfectly suited for tasks requiring agility and precision, such as material handling in construction sites or loading/unloading operations in warehouses.
The HL950I (5T) wheel loader is built for heavier-duty applications that demand superior strength and efficiency. With its robust construction and ample power, this model can handle demanding tasks such as bulk material transport in mining operations or heavy-duty construction projects.
What are the key specifications of your wheel loaders in terms of load capacity, engine power, and bucket size?
One of the key features of HD Hyundai’s wheel loaders is their advanced engine system. These machines use high-pressure common rail diesel engines supported by electronic control units (ECUs). Together, they adjust fuel injection in real time based on load conditions, which helps improve fuel efficiency and reduce emissions, without compromising engine power.
The loaders with electronic engines that offer multiple working modes (Low/Medium/High). This allows operators to adjust performance settings depending on the task, helping to reduce fuel use and lower engine noise during both heavy-duty and light-duty operations.
They also feature turbocharged engines with after-cooling systems. The turbocharger increases the amount of air entering the engine, improving combustion and boosting power. The after-cooler lowers the temperature of the compressed air delivered by the turbocharger. This denser, cooler air enables more efficient combustion inside the engine, which improves fuel economy and reduces emissions.
What safety features does the wheel loader include (e.g., ROPS, FOPS)?
At HD Hyundai, safety is thoughtfully integrated into the design of our wheel loaders to support the well-being of operators and those on site.
The wheel loaders come standard with ROPS and FOPS, essential for preventing accidents caused by rollovers or falling objects. Additionally, a cabin front guard provides extra protection to the cab from impacts from external objects. For emergencies, operators can quickly disconnect the battery using the Battery Cut-Off Switch, minimizing electrical hazards and ensuring the safety of maintenance personnel.
How extensive is your after-sales support network, including spare parts availability and technical assistance?
In construction and heavy equipment operations, dependable performance and ongoing support often define the difference between delays and progress. At HD Hyundai, we understand this quiet expectation and remain committed to providing steady, long-term after-sales support aligned with our customers’ evolving needs.
To support long-term equipment performance, HD Hyundai ensures ready access to Genuine Parts—components that match the exact specifications used during original manufacturing. This helps maintain machine integrity, reduce downtime, and keep operations running efficiently.
Technical assistance is another key part of HD Hyundai’s after-sales support. A trained team of specialists provides timely, accurate guidance for troubleshooting, routine maintenance, or general queries. This hands-on support helps customers keep their equipment running reliably and with minimal disruption.
HD Hyundai’s extensive customer support network further enhances its after-sales service. With over 200 touchpoints across India where assistance is always within reach. From addressing inquiries and concerns to handling warranty-related matters, HD Hyundai’s customer support team is dedicated to providing prompt and attentive service, strengthening trust in the brand, and building long-lasting relationships with customers.
