How was your overall experience at IMME 2024? Could you share your thoughts on the exhibition in terms of participation, networking opportunities, and visitor engagement?

The IMME 2024 exhibition showcased a diverse range of participants, from leading mining equipment manufacturers to innovative startups, which contributed to a vibrant atmosphere. Networking opportunities were abundant, with many chances to connect with industry peers and stakeholders. The well-organized conference sessions and discussions facilitated valuable exchanges of ideas and insights on current trends and challenges in the mining sector.

Visitor engagement was strong for the first two days, with attendees actively exploring the exhibits despite continuous rains and the looming cyclone effects. However, IMME 2024 provided a comprehensive platform for collaboration and knowledge sharing, highlighting its importance in the mining community.

What was VDMA’s focus at the exhibition? What feedback did you receive from potential clients or partners regarding your offerings?

At IMME 2024, VDMA organised the German Pavilion where the participating companies focused on promoting sustainable mining technologies and showcasing innovative solutions that enhance efficiency and reduce environmental impact. The emphasis was on electric and hybrid equipment, automation, and digitalization in the mining sector.

Feedback from potential clients and partners was largely positive, with many expressing interest in the commitment to sustainability and the advancements highlighted. Attendees appreciated the emphasis on innovative technologies and several discussions centred around potential collaborations and the integration of German technologies into existing operations, indicating strong market interest in the solutions. In fact, VDMA also organised the 4th Mining Management Meeting – Mining Machinery which was well received by the participating VDMA Members and turned out to be a very insightful discussion.
