Which types of heavy-duty road mats do you manufacture? (e.g., access mats, ground protection mats, rig mats, etc.)

At PortaDeck, a product of Mtandt Group, we specialize in heavy-duty access and ground protection mats. Our PortaDeck mats are designed to withstand all weather conditions, ensuring reliable access to work sites even in challenging environments such as muddy soils or during monsoon season.

What materials do you use in your road mats?

Our PortaDeck mats are crafted from a high-quality polyethylene-based polymer blend, fortified with special additives to enhance mechanical strength and longevity. These mats are engineered to resist UV degradation and corrosion, ensuring a durable solution for our customers’ needs.

What are the additional features offered in your range of heavy-duty?

In addition to their robust construction, our PortaDeck mats feature a unique overlap lip of 200mm and a specially designed locking system. This ensures that load is transferred between mats with extremely high fidelity and facilitates quick assembly, enhancing efficiency on job sites.

How do you ensure the durability and performance of your road mats?

At PortaDeck, we prioritize durability and performance by integrating advanced materials, technology, and design elements into our mats, ensuring longevity and ease of use. Our team of experienced supervisors and product experts deep dive and solve for each site individually regarding how best the mats can be used to ensure optimum performance. Additionally, our mats undergo rigorous testing and quality assurance measures to meet the highest reliability standards.

What are your after-sales initiatives for customers?

We are committed to supporting our customers beyond the initial purchase/rental agreement. With end-to-end mat maintenance facilities in Chennai and Delhi and a dedicated recycling supply chain, we ensure sustainable solutions for the lifecycle of our products.

What are the rental or leasing options for road mats from your company?

Recognizing the varying needs of our customers, we offer flexible rental and leasing options for our PortaDeck mats. Our bespoke plans cater to diverse usage patterns, providing cost-effective solutions for temporary access needs.

What are the unique selling points of your heavy-duty road mats?

The standout feature of our PortaDeck mats is their built-in buoyancy. They have a hollow honeycomb design, which means that despite having a robust compressive strength of over 425 tons per sqm, they can still float on water. This has been designed so that the mats offer exceptional load-bearing capacity, making them ideal for challenging terrains such as marshes and wetlands, especially across the subcontinent.

What are the biggest challenges facing the heavy-duty road mat industry?

Although the category is reasonably established and matured in Western markets, in India, due to the different way in which the industry developed as opposed to the West and challenges surrounding environmental protection laws and their enforcement, road mats appear to be just a low-benefit expense item to a lot of small to medium contractors. This is because Indian projects often do not account for the environmental cost of construction, such as topsoil erosion, degradation of local flora and fauna, and the cost of remediation once the work is complete. The community bears these costs in the long run.

What are your future plans for your road mat products and services?

Looking ahead, we remain committed to expanding our market presence and investing in assets and skilled professionals. We see absolute acceptance from overseas contractors whose global operations have some experience with the road mats category and new and progressive Indian players who want to add value to their operations in terms of convenience to their personnel on the ground and better economics for their projects.
