Can you tell us about MyCrane and how it’s disrupting the construction industry?

MyCrane is a digital startup that is making waves in the construction industry. Essentially, we’re connecting customers who need to rent cranes with crane owners who have cranes available for rent. Our mission is to digitize the crane rental industry, and you can think of us as the “Uber for cranes.”

Here’s how it works: Crane owners register on our platform, list their available fleet, and make it accessible on our website. When a customer requires a crane, they can simply place an inquiry online. This digital approach streamlines the process, eliminating the need for manual tasks like technical assessments, inquiries, negotiations, and meetings with multiple suppliers. Customers can now save valuable time by completing a simple inquiry form.

By bringing all crane companies onto our platform, we increase competition, ultimately driving down costs for customers. MyCrane operates as a global platform for online crane rental, saving customers both time and money.

How do you handle equipment rental during peak construction and high-demand seasons?

Addressing peak construction seasons is one of our core objectives at MyCrane. As we continue to expand and gather substantial data about the market, we’ll be better equipped to provide insights into market conditions, trends, and crane availability. This transparency will help businesses plan their projects more effectively. For instance, if a project requires 500 cranes, our platform will show them whether there’s a crane shortage during that time, allowing them to make informed decisions.

Additionally, we offer more than just a rental platform. We have four pillars of services: the rental platform, a marketplace for listing cranes and equipment, additional services including engineering and logistics support, and a suite of digital tools to enhance efficiency.

One such tool is the MyCrane Selector, a free program available on our website. It streamlines the process of selecting the right crane for a job by analyzing factors such as cargo dimensions, weight, lifting radius, and lifting height to recommend the appropriate crane model.

How does MyCrane handle liability and equipment damage during the rental period?

When a customer selects a supplier on our platform, they enter into a direct contract with the supplier. This arrangement means that most of the liability for payments and equipment delivery remains between the customer and the supplier.

We receive our commission only after the supplier has received payment from the customer, indicating that the job has been completed to the customer’s satisfaction, and all acceptance documentation has been signed. While we don’t assume legal liability, our reputation is closely tied to the quality of the transactions on our platform, so we actively mediate and oversee the process.

In the future, we plan to introduce three-party contracts that involve multiple crane companies but still allocate liability appropriately. Our focus is on maintaining transparency and ensuring proper documentation to protect all parties involved.

What challenges do you foresee in the crane rental industry?

The crane rental industry is unique and somewhat conservative. Changing the mindset of industry professionals is one of our main challenges. People are accustomed to using their existing contacts and relationships for crane rentals. We aim to shift this paradigm by offering a digital solution that’s more efficient and convenient. This transition won’t be easy, but we’re making progress.

Moreover, the crane rental market is a niche industry, and our advantage is that our team has a deep understanding of cranes and the market dynamics. This knowledge gives us an edge over startups that lack industry expertise.
