Optimization of design has been done to enhance the productivity.

Taurian Engineering offers a wide range of crushers from 150 TPH and above apart from jaw and cone crushers, screens, VSI and HSI machines with enhanced productivity. “300TPH plant has become a real requirement and to cater to this we have upgraded the technologies and have launched GS300 and GS350 model cone crushers, TVS 2060 screens last year,” says Onkar Sapre, Country Head – Sales & Marketing, Taurian Engineering. Sapre speaks about the latest trends in the crusher market.

‘More productivity at lesser cost of ownership, for a longer term’ seems to be a major factor in choosing equipment in general. What is your take on this?

Well, we are looking at this trend not now but for a long time. Optimization of the design has been done to suit the requirement of the customers to enhance the productivity and life of the equipment. We are striking the crucial balance between productivity, cost and life of the machine. Innovation is the key to sustenance and we are continuously innovating and upgrading our products according to the market trends.

What are the current market trends in crusher segment?

For the last couple of years the market has graduated to 250 TPH and as of today contractors are looking at higher capacity plants. 300TPH plant has become a real requirement and to cater to this we have upgraded the technologies and have launched GS300 and GS350 model cone crushers, TVS 2060 screens last year.  We have also launched automated plants that can be monitored over mobiles. As automation has its own pros and cons, we have kept this as an optional offering. We are equipped with skid mounted plants, wheel mounted plant, and track mounted plants to cater to all the demands of the customer.

Is there a trend towards ‘green’ technology in the crushing and screening segment?

The trend is slowly catching up in the Indian crushing segment, especially in South India as the implementation rules are very strict.  The rest of India needs to catch up. We at Taurian have already upgraded our technology to cater to this requirement, keeping it as optional offering depending on the requirements of the customer.

Telematics and data driven technologies has brought a profound shift in the CE sector.  How do you assess its impact on the crushers and screen segment in India compared to global trends?

Honestly in Indian site conditions and especially in crushers segment we have not seen much impact, as the sites are remotely located with a lot of external factors which cannot be accounted for like feed arrangement, planning, sale etc. We foresee it a future but current trends are not very favouring in terms of telematics and data analysing.

As the fuel prices keep going up, what sort of ‘feature upgrades’ you have brought into your range of crushers to increase the fuel efficiency?

The simplest way to tackle the high rising fuel prices is enhancing the productivity; we are focusing on enhancing the productivity to counter the high rise fuel cost so that per tonne cost can be minimized. We are constantly upgrading the crushers to enhance the productivity.

What do you think the major parameters a customer looks into while opting for a crushing plant?

Indian customer is very price and quality conscious, that demand of aggregates is at an all time high.  Consumer wants the best possible shape and the strength in the aggregates, and VSI (vertical shaft Impactor) is the machine for the job. Earlier these machines were only sold in Mumbai, Pune, Banglore, kerela majorly, but nowadays they are sold across India, in Tamil Nadu, UP, and Haryana etc.

What is the growth potential for crushers and screens from the manufactured sand segment?

The demand for manufactured sand is rising linearly every quarter, and we are well equipped for it. We have sand plants starting from 100TPH upto 300 TPH of only 0-5mm products and working phenomenally well in the market. We see that the potential of manufactured sand is huge and constantly rising.

How do you expect the growth scenario for the next five years?

Well we are thankful to road and infrastructure development initiatives that the market currently is at a all time high.  If these initiatives are there for next five years, predicting the sales performance would be extremely difficult.

How do you assess the growth potential for static and wheeled / tracked plants from various sectors such as realty, rail corridors and irrigation projects?

As I said all the type / class of crushers currently are having a huge potential.  Due to road development wheeled plants and track plants are in demand, and due to infrastructure development there is a huge leap in skid and fixed plants.

What do you think the overall value of the crushers and screens industry in the organized sector?

As per our estimate this industry is worth 3000 crore, and as of now there is a demand supply gap which all the crushers manufacturers are trying to bridg in. The market demand  is now for 250TPH and above range.

Brief us on the range offered. Why should a customer opt for Taurian crushers / screens?

We offer wheeled, track and skid crushers from 150 TPH and above apart from jaw and cone crushers, screens, VSI and HSI machines to enhance
the productivity.
