Isotrack’s most preferred temporary access mats ease mobility in difficult terrains

It was way back in 1915 when Robert Frost wrote the beautiful piece of “The Road Not Taken” but in today’s times, we at Isotrack make it possible to access any road or terrain anywhere.

India today is witnessing fast paced construction be it the segment of roads, highways, bridges, ports, power, renewable energy, smart cities, etc. with a lot of initiative from the Government as it has undertaken numerous infrastructure projects and is estimated to embark on significant projects worth $ 1.3 trillion.

With this growth story come a lot of challenges too to ensure that these projects see the light of the day with definitive timelines. The infrastructure or construction projects being majorly outdoor, it is inevitable to focus on the ground conditions and terrain at site. The projects are mainly delayed due to various factors like unforeseen ground condition, extreme weather, restricted access to project sites, lower manpower productivity due to poor working conditions, equipment/vehicle breakdowns due to poor ground conditions like wet, marshy grounds, loose soil, sand, etc. making these projects a herculean task to complete. Overcoming these challenges gets crucial to save a lot of time and costs, besides delivering the projects on time.

It was during the covid times when a reputed company back in Serbia had to drill an oil rig. The project came with its own challenges owing to its location. The biggest challenge was to access the drilling site which was across an agricultural land. The mandate was to ensure that no damage is caused to the land. The product in use were wooden mats which could not be interconnected, had a short life-span of one year, too slippery for the movement of equipment, vehicles and manpower.  These led to unprecedented delays in project execution costing a fortune to the client.

Then came Isotrack which made the work easy with the installation of the X mats for making temporary roadways and work areas to fasten the project. These mats provided excellent traction for vehicles and safe working for the project team, causing no damage to the agricultural land avoiding reinstatement costs. Isotrack mats provided continuous surface without trip hazards, durability, reusability, reduced transport costs compared to wooden mats (more sqm of Isotrack mats per truck), were chemically inert and easy to clean and maintain.

The versatility of these mats led to a timely execution of this project and the customer was left with a better return on investment and Isotrack earned a customer for a lifetime.

On all projects, time is money, and construction equipment and vehicles are valuable assets that you cannot afford to have sunk down in soft ground. Using Isotrack mats can provide sure and safe access for personnel and equipment, reducing risk of stoppage and downtime due to soft ground conditions. These mats provide a safe and solid working platform for cranes, transport vehicles and staging areas eliminating the recurring cost of construction and de-construction of permanent access roads, and thereby, help in reducing the idle time and WIP cost due to faster movement of equipment even during the monsoon season when the soil is completely marshy.
