Schwing Stetter India - a leading manufacturer of concrete and construction equipment in India, entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras (IIT Madras) to drive sustainable advancements in construction industry.

Schwing Stetter India - a leading manufacturer of concrete and construction equipment in India, entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras (IIT Madras) to drive sustainable advancements in construction industry.
As part of this collaboration, SCHWING Stetter India becomes a Platinum Member in Technologies for Low Carbon Lean Concrete (TLC2) program and joins the Advisory Board of the Centre of Excellence of IIT Madras.
SCHWING Stetter India in its dedicated efforts towards Nation’s 2070 net-zero goal, introduced its strong line up of sustainable construction equipment at the recently concluded Bharat Mobility Global expo 2025.
On display were the high performance environmentally focussed products such as Construction and Demolition Waste Crushers, Concrete Recycling Plant, Sludge Pump, Fire & Life Safety Equipment (Articulating Water Tower – AWT 36) and Truck Mixer Pump (FBP 29).
With India's growing emphasis on sustainable infrastructure development, SCHWING Stetter and IIT Madras jointly conducted a study earlier with Chennai Metro on reuse of construction and demolition waste aggregates in concrete production and published a report. Through joint research initiatives, the partnership will work towards developing energy efficient and environmentally friendly construction techniques enhancing innovation in construction industry by integrating academic research with industry expertise.
The collaboration between SCHWING and IIT Madras is set to aid SCHWING Stetter engineers on various skill development trainings through IIT faculties & also perform various collaborative projects.
Commenting on the partnership, V.G. With the growing demand for sustainable construction materials, our joint efforts with IIT Madras will pave the way for pioneering advancements in low-carbon concrete technologies.”
“In this partnership, we will mainly focus on upgrading the existing technologies and developing new technologies which will aid in extracting high quality materials (stones, sand, and reactive concrete fines) from waste debris having properties at par with natural materials.” said Professor Manu Santhanam, Principal investigator of the Centre of Excellence.
