Caterpillar launches its next generation 20T excavator portfolio with improved productivity, lower fuel consumption and lower maintenance costs.

Caterpillar, the world’s largest manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, recently launched its next generation excavators Cat320D3 and Cat323D3 excavators from its Thiruvallur manufacturing plant in Tamil Nadu, India.  The machines offer up to 7% more hydraulic power, 15% increased productivity, 15% lower fuel consumption and 5% lower maintenance costs.

The new 320D3 fits road contractor’s and construction customers’ demand for low owning and operating costs. The 320D3 consumes 15% less fuel than its predecessor 320D2 and shows 5% lower maintenance cost with much lower owning and operating costs. The new 323D3 is built to endure the toughest job on the site with the large 1.2m3 severe duty bucket. To further customer advantage, they come with simple, easy to maintain robust systems to keep the machine up and running all day, every day.

The Government of India has launched several projects with ambitious targets to develop infrastructure in India. Epiroc Launches Minetruck 436B for Mining

 

The truck is designed to manage underground haulage with 32.6 metric tonne load capacity.

Epiroc, a global productivity partner for mining, infrastructure and natural resources industries, recently launched Minetruck MT436B, to boost underground haulage capacity and efficiency across mining and construction operations.

The Minetruck MT436B comes with unique features including Jacobs engine brake, automatic engine over-speed protection, electric transmission shift control and converter lockups. The truck is designed to facilitate fast, proactive and efficient service. Its centralised lubrication technique improves the component life while the driver’s cabin is ergonomically designed for easy access of the controls. The MT436B can upload up to 32.6 metric tonnes and can be equipped with a Teletram dump box to push material off horizontally.

Hindustan Zinc is the first customer of Minetruck. The key of the first truck manufactured was handed over to Hindustan Zinc Chief Opearting Officer LS Shekhawat. “We need more such trucks for efficient underground mining. It is also automated, so that the driver can control the operations from above. India needs to increase its mining activity by 5-6 times to fully unlock the potential of its mines and machines such as the Minetruck will be truly helpful in achieving this,” Shekhawat told Equipment Times.
